A new TV commercial for Samsung Electronics Japan’s latest foldable AI phone “Galaxy Z Flip6” starring New School Leaders will begin airing on July 31st. It will also be released on Samsung’s various SNS accounts in due course.

In the new commercial, the new school leaders who have been appointed as members of Team Galaxy (※) humorously explain how to use the Galaxy Z Flip6’s translation function and auto zoom function. A making-of video has also been released.
*Team Galaxy: A team that delivers new ways to use Galaxy and its appeal through social media, etc. The team is made up of members active in various fields, including artists, creators, influencers, and professional gamers.

The new commercials are “Galaxy Z Flip6: New School Leaders x Foreign language conversations are so easy,” in which New School Leaders play games with tourists from overseas, overcoming the language barrier, and “Galaxy Z Flip6: New School Leaders x Hands-free photography is so easy,” in which New School Leaders appear at an amusement park and help students take photos.

■Galaxy Z Flip6 “Conversing in a foreign language is so easy”
A tourist is playing a game at an arcade when the leaders of a new school appear and challenge him to a game, but it appears the tourist does not understand Japanese.

So I took out the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and turned on the “Interpreter” function. I placed the device folded at a 90-degree angle on top of the game console and spoke to it in Japanese, and the Galaxy AI instantly translated the voice and text into a foreign language, enabling two-way interpretation.

The match finally begins. KANON and MIZYU become game characters and fight, winning spectacularly. The tourists then request a rematch.

■Galaxy Z Flip6 “Hands-free shooting is so easy”
The new school leaders arrive at an amusement park and look around when they come across a group of students. They try to take a photo with the mascot character, but have a hard time positioning their smartphones, and not everyone fits in the frame.

The new school leaders then appeared, and SUZUKA set up the Galaxy Z Flip6, which allows you to take photos at any angle you like, and started up the camera mode. All the members just joined the group, and the Galaxy AI’s auto zoom function detected all the subjects and automatically adjusted the angle of view, making it easy to take a photo of everyone.

Suddenly, the people around them notice the new school leaders and rush over to them, but the four of them run away from their fans, seeming to have fun.

■ Filming episodes
“Hands-free shooting is so easy”
The shoot took place at Hanayashiki Gardens in Asakusa, and the New School Leaders high-fived the staff before starting the shoot.

The members filmed in various ways while checking the details of their movements and lines with the overseas staff, and the filming site was filled with a friendly atmosphere from start to finish. The members were seen running away from the swarm of fans, having fun.

“Conversing in a foreign language is so easy”
Filmed at a game center in Shinjuku, Tokyo. In the video of the gameplay, KANON and MIZYU are seen repeatedly pressing buttons with various expressions, which is very impressive.

What’s more, the members themselves appear as game characters in the commercial. Be sure to check it out.

■New School Leaders Interviews(Excerpt)
Q: How do you feel after finishing filming?
SUZUKA:It was our first time working in Japan since our European and Asian tours, so we were excited to be back after such a long time. We were also happy to be able to sneak into the amusement park before it opened, as we were shooting from 4am.
RIN:It’s rare that I get to go to an amusement park before it opens, so I felt like it was a special experience to be able to take photos there. Afterwards, we had the entire arcade to ourselves. It was a rare experience.

Q: What were your impressions of using GalaxyAI’s interpretation function?
RIN:I truly wish I had the Galaxy AI’s interpretation function at my fingertips when I went on my Asia and European tours.
MIZYU:How convenient it would have been, I wanted to travel with this kid.
RIN:From now on, I’ll definitely be your buddy.
KANON:Let’s go abroad with this child at the center.
SUZUKA:You can preserve your memories in amazing quality.

Q: Tell us about a memorable experience you had at an arcade.
SUZUKA:I was going to the game center every day.
KANON:I used to go there every Friday with my dad.
RIN:When I was in elementary school, there was a mysterious rule at school that you couldn’t go to game centers, but I had fun going there in secret.

Q: Tell us about a memorable experience you had at an amusement park.
SUZUKA:I took a break from lessons and went to an amusement park in Osaka. There, I got hooked on riding the roller coaster over and over again until it closed.
RIN:Just after the new year, the four of us went to an amusement park in Yokohama, and KANON and I said that we don’t like thrilling rides and couldn’t ride roller coasters, but they said, “We’re going this year! We have to ride it!”, so we rode it at the front.
KANON:It was probably when the season changed to 2017, and I went for a ride to get pumped, but I nearly lost consciousness.
MIZYU:I remember them both having tears in their eyes and saying, “I feel like I can do my best this year!”

Q: Tell us about a recent episode where you had a contest amongst your members.
KANON:There’s something we always do before a live performance, but when we linked our pinkies together, we somehow started wrestling. We were supposed to be pumped up before the live performance, but somehow it just started. There was no clear winner, and it ended with everyone shouting “yeah!”

Q: What challenge would you like to take on next?
KANON:Recorders maybe?
SUZUKA:I’d love to include the recorder in my live performances.
MIZYU:It’s definitely a challenge again.
KANON:I played the recorder quite a bit up until around 2018. I was a really bad recorder player, but I decided to try and improve my skills.
MIZYU:I’d like to learn from someone skilled and give it a try.

Q: Please tell us about your mascot character.
SUZUKA:I know this may not seem like a big deal to you, but the leadership team at my new school has a professional mascot character. Every time I meet him, he says “Hello!”
KANON:She is an overseas staff member and an incredibly talented woman.

Q: You are all very successful at the moment, but how are you feeling in your private life?
SUZUKA:Now, when we have parties for new school leaders, people ask us for autographs. That didn’t happen before. There were many situations where we were in a store full of autographs because we were unknown.
RIN:Now a lot of people come to our live shows.
MIZYU:When the four of us were walking around Singapore, I wasn’t wearing a sailor uniform, but a Japanese family living in Singapore came running up to talk to me and told me with a grin on their face that their daughter dances every day, which made me really happy.

Q: Please tell us about a memorable episode from an overseas tour.
KANON:At one live performance, about 10 people came to see us dressed in sailor costumes, and after we left the stage, they formed a group exercise and got really excited. I heard an episode like that. We always do group exercises, and when I saw a photo of a large group of people doing it, I thought it was amazing.
MIZYU:I went to 13 cities in one month, and each of those 13 cities had its own unique character. Before that, I did a fan club tour in Japan, and those 5 cities were all different, so I like the regional character and texture of each place, and I enjoy that too.

Q: Please give a message to those who have watched the commercial and making-of video.
SUZUKA:We are impressed that the new version of the Galaxy Z Flip6 has many wonderful features to help Japanese people take off into the world. Moreover, I would like to make use of them. So, why don’t we all go on an adventure with AG! to the world? Yay! That’s all for the new school leaders! Bye!
