Sony Music Entertainment Inc. is pleased to announce the winners of the “ReoNa x Kasamura Tota Collaboration Contest.”
Monogatary.com is a novel posting site where users can freely post stories to themes given by the site manager every day, and have fun reacting to them in various ways, such as adding illustrations and comments. In the past, Monocon 2019 attracted a lot of attention with the birth of the “novels turned to music” unit “YOASOBI,” which has been extremely successful, with their hit song “Idol” reaching number one on the global charts.
Thank you very much for your participation in the “ReoNa x Kasamura Tota Collaboration Contest”, which was held from Friday, May 24th, 2024 to Monday, June 17th, 2024.
In this project, we asked for stories told from the perspective of the “Omurice” that appears in the lyrics of the new song “Omurice” to be released on May 17, 2024. ReoNa, Kasamura Tota, and the contest staff selected the winning works, and we are pleased to announce that they have been decided. We have also received an overall review of the contest, which we will share with you.

Without even realizing it, people care about others and are cared about by others.
However, sometimes the form you can give to someone is different from the form they want.
Sometimes you are given something different from what you want.
Even if it’s awkward, offer it up and exchange words.
In this story, I think one of the ways consideration was shown was by having omelet rice on the dinner table.
People cannot survive without eating.
It may sound cliche, but I think that the omelet rice that was served to you and Mom at the end not only became part of your flesh and blood, but also nourished your souls.
I am also looking forward to seeing this story made into a film along with the song “Omurice.”

The main character’s favorite food is omelet rice.
The story depicts “an omelet rice that hasn’t changed at all since the protagonist was a child” and “the protagonist who grows and changes,” but along with the changes in the world around the protagonist, it feels as if even the omelet rice is changing, which makes the protagonist’s emotional pain and loneliness felt even more strongly.
We live our lives worrying and confused every day.
The passage of time stirs up and changes the human mind, which is already unstable, sometimes making it shine brightly and other times making it dark and murky.
It is very difficult to walk and live straight.
Even in such circumstances, if we have something that always remains the same, something that can serve as a guide for us, we will surely be able to return to where we were someday.
I’m sure that’s what omurice meant to the protagonist of this story.
I thought it was a wonderful story that perfectly fit the theme of this episode, “A story based on a song and told from the perspective of an omelet rice.”

Like singing, like flowing.
The words that are placed down somehow seep in like water.
These words are neither hot nor cold, just at body temperature.
Looking at “that girl seen from the omelet rice” from a little distance, I felt the kindness that comes from being a little far away.
As we go through our normal, but not so normal, days after days, we are all “enveloped” by something.
The spaces within the words sparked my imagination and I naturally followed the words.

A beautifully written story from beginning to end.
The story had a novel style in which the main character, who was scarred by an omelet rice as a child, reminisces about the past as an adult while eating omelet rice.
The story has a unique setting and portrayal that is not found in the song, with the protagonist as an adult eating omelet rice at an omelet rice restaurant, but I love it as a story with redemption.

I was moved by the way the story focused solely on the short duration of Omurice’s life, depicting her calmly, bravely, and single-mindedly gazing at the situation she found herself in and at “that person.”

A despair-inducing anime song singer.
Although she has a shady, girlish appearance, this singer sings delicate, deep, boyish songs.
She sang the character Kanzaki Elsa in the TV anime “Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online” and released the mini-album “ELZA” under the name “Kanzaki Elsa starring ReoNa” in July 2018. In August 2018, she made her solo debut with the release of her first single “SWEET HURT” under the name ReoNa, the ending theme of the TV anime “Happy Sugar Life”.
In March 2023, she held her first solo concert at the Nippon Budokan, “ReoNa ONE-MAN Concert 2023 “Pilgrim” at Nippon Budokan ~3.6 day Run Away and Meet~”, and tickets sold out in one day despite being held on a weekday. Two days after the Budokan performance, she released her second full album, “HUMAN”.
On August 29, 2023, she will celebrate the 5th anniversary of her major debut, and on the following August 30th, she will release “ReoNa ONE-MAN Concert 2023 “Pilgrim” at Nippon Budokan ~3.6 day Run Away and Meet Again~,” a packaged live performance from Nippon Budokan.

Belongs to LIVE LAB. In 2017, he started his musical career as a Vocaloid producer called Kasamura Tota.
