Southern All Stars releases music video for new song "Koi no Boogie Woogie Night"! Guest appearances by Eiko Koike and Taiga Nakano from the drama "Shinjuku Field Hospital"

The music video for Southern All Stars’ new song “Koi no Boogie Woogie Night,” which is also the theme song for the drama “Shinjuku No Senbyoin” (Fuji TV), was released at 11pm on July 31st.

The music video for “Koi no Boogie Woogie Night” was shot over two days at a studio in Tokyo. A special set was built to resemble a disco of the future, with a giant mirror ball and shining neon lights, and the cast of over 40 people included Southern All Stars performing the song, seductive and sexy dancers, dancers performing group activities, junior high school B-boys breaking, and genderless and unique models and artists who could be called “people of the future.” The video expresses the unique futuristic feel of Tokyo’s downtown, which is both a crossroads and a melting pot of cultures.

In this music video, Eiko Koike, who plays Yoko Nishi Freeman, the main character in “Shinjuku Field Hospital”, and Taiga Nakano, who plays Takamine Toru, appear as special guests in their respective roles. The two jump out of the drama and dance on the same stage, and the excitement reaches a climax towards the second half of the song!

After the shoot, the two were excited, saying, “It was like a dream to be able to appear in the music video for Southern All Stars, and it was a really fun time!” (Nakano) and “I’m glad we worked so hard! I never thought a day like this would come” (Koike). The dream collaboration that only a drama theme song could have come true.
