The world-famous all-girl band BAND-MAID will be the first Japanese band to perform at Lollapalooza in the US in 2023, about 13 years after X JAPAN. It has been revealed that the artwork for their first studio album in about three and a half years, “Epic Narratives,” to be released on September 25th, and the music video for “SHOW THEM” (under the name BAND-MAID with The Warning), which will be released in advance from the album on August 7th, will be released on YouTube at 0:00 JST at the same time as the album’s release.
The artwork for the new album was produced by SAIKI (Vo.) as well. The artwork is eye-catching, depicting the scenery around the tower, which was also a symbol of the package design for the 10th anniversary concert released in March. Early reservations for the new album “Epic Narratives” will include a CD containing the HALL TOUR 2024 opening sound effect “Seasoned,” as well as seven original bonuses for each shop. Images of the bonuses have also been released, so try to find what you’re looking for. The early reservation bonuses are available for reservations made by August 7th, so make sure to make your reservation quickly. In addition, at the same time as the release of BAND-MAID with The Warning’s “SHOW THEM,” which will be released in advance of the new album on August 7, a music video featuring the two bands performing together will premiere on BAND-MAID’s official YouTube channel. A “SHOW THEM” teaser titled “BAND-MAID vs The Warning,” which shows members of each part contrasting each other, was released on social media and YouTube Shorts of the world-famous BAND-MAID and the Mexican national trio of sister bands The Warning, and attracted a lot of attention. The music video was apparently filmed in Tokyo when The Warning visited Japan. It is the only video that shows the two bands performing passionately against the backdrop of Tokyo’s cityscape and skyscrapers, so it is a must-see for rock fans.
BAND-MAID will be performing at many festivals, including RISING SUN ROCK FESTIVAL 2024 and SUMMER SONIC 2024, as well as a special edition Oyatsubi and a solo performance at ZEPP TOUR. Tickets for the ZEPP TOUR are currently being accepted by lottery, so a scramble is expected.
