Southern All Stars' "final summer festival performance" will be broadcast live in over 300 movie theaters nationwide

Southern All Stars’ performance at ROCK IN JAPAN FESTIVAL 2024 in HITACHINAKA (September 14th and 15th, September 21st to 23rd), which they have announced will be their “final summer festival appearance,” will be broadcast live to more than 300 cinemas across the country.

The information on Southern All Stars’ appearance at “ROCK IN JAPAN FESTIVAL 2024 in HITACHINAKA” was announced with the comment, “We hope that this appearance will be Southern All Stars’ final summer festival appearance.” Southern will be the final act of the festival, which will be held on September 23rd at Hitachi Seaside Park in Hitachinaka City, Ibaraki.

The announcement of their retirement was made with the intention of entrusting the future of summer festivals to future musicians, but as this was their third “Rockin'” in six years and the band’s “final summer festival appearance” as a symbol of summer, ticket applications poured in from all over Japan.

For the day that Southern All Stars performed, there were hundreds of thousands of applications, far exceeding the designated capacity of 50,000, indicating the high level of interest.

This time, since only a very limited number of people who had hoped to attend “the final summer festival” were able to make it to the venue, a decision was quickly made to hold a live viewing to broadcast Southern All Stars’ live stage performance on the day.

As many people were asking about this and everyone was trying to find a way to respond to the requests, Southern All Stars approached the Rock in Japan Festival office, and after discussions with the relevant parties, the office agreed. With this common goal in mind, the event was decided to go ahead.

Furthermore, after reaching out to movie theaters across the country, arrangements were made with over 300 theaters, making this the largest live viewing in the history of summer festivals. This will be the first time in the history of ROCK IN JAPAN FESTIVAL that a live broadcast will be held in a movie theater equipped with a large screen and excellent sound facilities, with a sense of realism that rivals that of a live venue, and it will also be the first time that a live viewing will be held for a single headliner artist at a music festival.
