Aisho Nakajima and NY-based ChiChi collaborate to release co-written song “XOXO” & music video released

The collaborative single “XOXO” by New York-based hyper-pop sensation Chichi and Tokyo-based queer artist Aisho Nakajima was released today, August 9th (Friday). The music video was also released.

Chichi, who has Japanese and Irish roots, and Aisho Nakajima, who was born in the Tokai region and moved to Australia, connected on social media and their shared love of music and pop culture led to this collaboration.

This song fuses hyper pop and bedroom pop with a nostalgic 2000s vibe. The lyrics are written in both Japanese and English, highlighting the duo’s multicultural upbringing and musical versatility, resulting in a fun, groove-filled, anthemic song. It is also Chichi’s first self-produced song, which is set to be an important milestone in her career.
