The pre-release single “Yomigaeri (with Noriyuki Makihara & Ayaka)” from Vickeblanka’s album “Knightclub” to be released on Wednesday, September 4th will be distributed on Monday, August 26th. The full contents of the album have also been released.

This is the first album in about three years since the previous album “FATE”. In addition to previously released singles such as “Byakuya”, the theme song for the TV Asahi drama “Kasouken no Onna Season 24”, and “Never Run”, which features a beat that Vickeblanka experienced firsthand during his North American tour in February this year, and plenty of arrangements, the album includes 10 colorful songs, including “Yomigaeri (with Noriyuki Makihara & Ayaka)”, a new song in collaboration with Noriyuki Makihara and Ayaka, and “Old Rivals (A Self-Cover of “Rivals!”), a self-cover of “Rivals!”, which was a hot topic when it was provided to “Hypnosis Mic”.

It’s strange, but the closer the song Yomigaeri got to completion, the more the voices of Makihara-san and Ayaka-san started playing in my head, and I couldn’t get them out of my head. I’m grateful to the two of them for readily accepting my rude offer, and I’d like to thank them once again!

The three voices blend together to create a strong, big song. I hope it will inspire you when you are trying to overcome the past, oppression, exhaustion, or even despair.


– Comment from Noriyuki Makihara –
My encounter with the artist Vickeblanka was very interesting.
When I hear a song on the radio and think, “Oh, I really like this song,” and I search for it on Shazam, it always turns up to be Vickeblanka…
So before we started working together, I was just a fan of Vickeblanka.
The sound and arrangements are cool, but his voice has an overwhelming presence, and I feel that his appeal lies in his voice more than anything else.
So every time I heard the song on the radio, I would search for it and wonder, “Who is the owner of that beautiful voice?”

I got to know him through a radio director.
He was more energetic and self-confident than I had imagined, yet also a very polite young man, and I found myself drawn to him more and more.

One day, I suddenly received a LINE message saying, “I’m currently writing this song, would you mind singing it, Makihara?”
I’d never been asked to collaborate in this way before, and I thought his sense of groove was really appealing, so I immediately agreed to the collaboration on “Yomigaeri.”

His unique worldview sounds abstract, but the pictures he conveys are very concrete.
It was really fun to be able to participate in such an appealing song. (Although it was extremely difficult haha)
As a fan, I would like to try this album to get a feel for the current state of Vickeblanka, an artist who is on a roll.


– Ayaka’s comment –
Along with the demo of Yomigaeri, I received a message saying “I really want you to sing this part,” and I was so moved by the power of the song that I decided to participate.
I thought it was wonderful how they were completely strict and uncompromising until they arrived at the ideal world view that Bikke envisioned.
Once you listen to it, you’ll find the melody repeating in your head.
I can’t wait for everyone to hear Yomigaeri!
