The world-famous girl band BAND-MAID will be performing at “Lollapalooza” in the US in 2023, the first Japanese band to do so in about 13 years since X JAPAN. Following their Zepp Tour in Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka, they have announced that they will be holding special edition concerts in Sapporo and Fukuoka.
It is customary for BAND-MAID’s service to have the set list planned around SAIKI (Vo), but this time, as it is being labelled as a “special edition”, they will be split into teams of two – rhythm section members MISA (Ba) & AKANE (Dr), guitarists Miku Kobato (Vocals/Guitar) & KANAMI (Gt) – who will be responsible for devising the set list as well as producing the service.

We are really looking forward to our first live performance in Fukuoka in a long time!
This time, AKANE & MISA, the rhythm section, created the set list together!
It’s the first time we’ve come up with a setlist just the two of us, so I’m excited. I’m really looking forward to everyone’s reactions!
We’ll be including songs with a nice groove, songs that we both like, and more!
The setlist devised by the rhythm section will surely be interesting.

The Hokkaido special edition will feature a set list thought up by the two guitarists, KANAMI and Kobato!
The service day, the 20th, is the eve of Kobato’s birthday! In other words, it’s also the eve of the birthday celebration!
Kobato wants to see lots of Kanami-sensei acting as a guitar hero, and I’d also like to work hard on playing together with Kanami-chan po! I want to make it a wonderful, special night po? !!
Yes! It’s Kanami! I’m excited to be making a set list for the first time in years! And Kobato, do you want to play along with me? Maybe I should make a session like that with some song arrangements that are unique to Serving? Hehe.
I’m going to try my best to tackle the extra chapter as well!

Their hard rock sound, which is in stark contrast to their maid appearance, has won support from fans and media around the world, with a total of over 200 million views on YouTube. Reaction videos from fans around the world are also being released one after another on YouTube, with over 40 million views. They are also supported by rock and metal fans, and are now the most popular girl band overseas, with over 20,000 people attending their 2022 US tour. To date, they have been rocking the stages of large festivals in Japan and conducting world tours almost every year.
