The audience was stunned by her beautiful voice and presence! Mikah, a singer-songwriter with roots in Japan and America who is also hugely popular in China, will be making her first appearance at SUMMER SONIC 2024 Tokyo.

Mikah, a singer-songwriter with roots in Japan and the United States who is also very popular in China, will be appearing at Summer Sonic Tokyo 2024. On Sunday, August 18th, she performed in Japan for the first time as a solo artist.

First thing in the morning, MOUNTAIN STAGE. The many fans who had gathered at the venue from early on fell silent as if they were at a loss for words when mikah appeared. Then, they immediately erupted in a solemn round of applause, and the atmosphere of expectation and tension was tense. Leading a four-piece band, he was wearing a dark shirt and pants. His smart and stylish appearance made him look like he had stepped out of a fashion magazine. His short blonde hair stood out in the light.

The opening song was “UNDERNEATH THE SURFACE”. It started with a new song, as if to declare that a new era was about to begin. The whispering voice was so beautiful. Combined with the gentle sound of the guitar, it seemed to suit the morning glow. I couldn’t help but regret that it wasn’t an outdoor stage.

After the Japanese greeting, “Nice to meet you, I’m Mika,” the song flows seamlessly into the second song, “CHASING PARADISE.” This is also a new song from her upcoming new EP. This gorgeous number, which may be her most pop to date, is sung lightly and with skill in both falsetto and natural voice.

Afterwards, he covered Joji’s “Die For You,” who is also from Japan and active overseas, and dyed it in his own color, and in “stupid love” and “so I don’t forget” from his previous EP “bleached,” he intoxicated us with his melancholic and gentle singing voice. Then, in the new song “MAYBE IT’S ME,” which will be released in September as the first single from the new EP, he roared his free-flowing and angelic singing voice over the dynamic backing music reminiscent of a wall of sound, and the audience erupted in loud applause and cheers.

In between songs, fluent in both Japanese and English, she spoke of how she once attended Summer Sonic as an audience member when she lived in Tokyo. “I watched the performances of my favorite artists and discovered artists I didn’t know. I can’t believe I’m standing on the same stage now,” she said humbly, appearing deeply moved.

For the final song, a cover of Ne-Yo’s “So Sick,” he performed an upbeat version, occasionally throwing in accents of “Hey!”. Of course, the fact that he included this smash hit with a beautiful melody in his set was no doubt an expression of his desire to connect with everyone. The 30-minute stage performance felt a little too short, but his desire to connect with the audience was clearly conveyed through his songs and his MC. However, his style is never self-centered or pushy. He is cool and stylish to the end. His gentle stance, as if gently embracing you, was impressive.
