The third PV for the TV anime “Dandadan,” released on August 20th, featured the first audio of the opening theme “Otonoke” by Creepy Nuts.
It was also announced that the anime will begin broadcasting nationwide on the “Super Animeism TURBO” slot on 28 MBS/TBS affiliated stations every Thursday from 12:26am starting October 3rd.
The TV anime “Dandadan” is based on the popular manga by Ryu Yukinobu, which is currently being serialized in Shueisha’s manga magazine app “Shonen Jump +”. It is an occult battle and coming-of-age story in which Momo, who awakens her hidden powers in a desperate situation, and Okarun, who has acquired the power of a curse, challenge the approaching supernatural.
The third trailer, which was released along with the first broadcast date, is a fast-paced video featuring the main characters Momo and Okarun, as well as various other monsters such as Turbo Granny and the Serpo aliens.
In the second half, the opening theme “Otonoke” by Creepy Nuts was released for the first time. The rhythmic and catchy song matches the world view with battles, supernatural happenings, and romantic comedy elements, raising expectations for the anime broadcast.
“Otonoke,” written as the opening theme for the TV anime “Dandadan,” incorporates the relationship between music creators and listeners into the worldview of “Dandadan,” in which monsters and spirits “resonate with and connect with pain and sadness” when they possess people, and expresses the sense of fulfillment that comes from music filling a hole in the heart.
While incorporating the fast-paced beat of “Jersey Club” that was also used in the global hit “Bling-Bang-Bang-Born,” the track by DJ Matsunaga features a memorable melodic and emotional hook, and R-Shitei’s versatile rap and mellow vocals make for an upper tune that literally sticks in your ears and won’t let go.
