Music agent site “ZULA (pronounced: Zula,https://zula.jp/ Massenext Inc. (Minato-ku, Tokyo), which operates the website “PUNK RECORDS,” will release SpecialThanks’ full album “PUNK RECORDS” digitally worldwide from October 23rd.
SpecialThanks is a two-piece band consisting of Misaki on vocals and guitar and Takaaki Yoshida on drums and chorus. This year, they made a name for themselves by appearing at many outdoor festivals and live circuit events both in Japan and overseas.
SpecialThanks, a leader in Japan’s female melodic punk scene, has announced the release of their first full album in about four years, “PUNK RECORDS.”
The work will be released simultaneously on CD and digitally on Wednesday, October 23rd.
The album contains 13 songs in total, including five songs that have been released digitally since the release of “Sweet pea EP” in January 2023, and eight new, unreleased songs.
One of these, “96,” has been newly re-recorded as the album version.
As can be seen from the songs that have already been released, the band has a three-piece sound with a supporting bassist, which is said to be simpler and more concentrated with the essence of punk rock, which is the roots of vocalist Misaki.
In addition to the release announcement, a release tour was also announced, with 14 locations across the country.
The tour will kick off on October 27th at LOOK in Chiba and run for about four months until the final show at Spotify O-WEST in Shibuya.
