Chisato Matsuura releases his first solo EP "Woov" Drummer who also plays for SAI, SHAG, etc.

Drummer Chisho Matsuura released his first solo EP, “Woov,” today, Friday, August 23rd.

Drummer Chisho Matsuura is a member of SAI, led by Suchmos’ keyboardist TAIHEI, NAGAN SERVER and DANCEMBLE, led by NAGAN SERVER, and SHAG, led by LUNA SEA’s guitarist SUGIZO, and also supports various other artists.

This work contains 5 songs with the concept of “real”. The entire album is a collection of beats recorded in one take, with only basic drums, and no editing, and you can really feel Matsuura’s high playability and pride.

TAIHEI was in charge of recording, and also participated in “Iykyk” with Rhodes as a bassist. A release event is also scheduled to be held on Sunday, August 25th at Ikeshibu LIVES in Shibuya, Tokyo. Check it out.

[Comment from Chisho Matsuura]

I made this album after receiving a comment from Ikebe Grandy Bass on a video of me playing drums that I uploaded to social media, saying, “Even just the beat feels good, so I want to listen to it forever.” I think this is a surprisingly rare pattern. It’s all one-take recording with no editing whatsoever. I asked TAIHEI from Sai to record, and he played the keys and bass on the last song. The last song is the only one that has sounds other than the drums. The mix and mastering were done by Izuhara-san, the owner of the live house “Cable” in my hometown, Fukuyama. I learned a lot from Izuhara-san. This album was completed with the cooperation of the people who have helped me. I hope you enjoy it!
