Regal Lily releases music video for “Moonlight Reverse,” a track from their latest album starring Hana Sugisaki

Regal Lily has released the music video for “Moonlight Reverse,” a track from their album “kirin,” released on August 28th.

The new song “Moonlight Reverse,” which has been attracting attention due to the participation of Seiji Kameda as an arranger, is a love song ballad that sings about “the pain in one’s heart that is remembered when looking at the moon.” In Takahashi Honoka’s original and literary poetic expression, the straightforward lyrics of “I love you more than the moon” and the earnest singing voice make this a song that touches the heartstrings.

The music video released this time stars actress Hana Sugisaki. Under the direction of director Gaku Izumida, the video depicts the strong and precious emotion of “love,” which is an important element of the song and is a pure human emotion.

It’s the kind of music video that will leave you with new emotions and realizations somewhere in your heart after watching it.

Regal Lily is currently on a nationwide tour called “We Are the Barefoot.” If you’re interested, be sure to check out their live performance.

■ Comment from Hana Sugisaki
I don’t think there is anything more ambiguous and complicated than human circumstances.
But the kind of connection that can only be made through interaction with someone,
Maybe I’m craving it.
That’s the feeling I had during the shoot.

■ Comment from Gaku Izumida (Director)
Listening to this song made me think once again about the emotion of love.
When Sugisaki-san entered the scene and started putting on makeup-
I felt the transience of everyday life, that it may eventually come to an end, and the preciousness of time that I don’t want to end.
“Love” may be the answer to the time spent together.

Do you want to meet them again, or do you want to live without looking back?
Through her acting, I feel like Sugisaki has created a rich box that gently embraces the destinations of various emotions.

A noble and powerful song, and the wonderful cast and staff including Sugisaki-san,
thank you very much.

■Takahashi Honoka (Regal Lily Vo, Gu) Comment
I had a chance to talk to Sugisaki-san during a break in filming, and I was convinced at that moment that the expressions she emitted, the sounds she could hear, and the music she produced were similar to the world I am creating with Regal Lily.
It’s something that can’t be put into words, so I wanted to create a piece together with him.
The rhythm of the conversations as filming progressed, the director and staff, Fujie-san who plays the younger brother, and Takahashi-san who plays the lover, each of them vividly jumped into a line of brilliance in the space, it felt like we were all making music together with many hands.
The moon that accompanies each of us, morning and night, is what sewed this piece together with all the memories that were involved.
So, we were finally able to deliver it to you all in the form of a music video.
I hope that this continuation that we created will continue to live on and be passed down. I hope that this talisman will grow larger, softer, harder, and stronger. I would like to express my gratitude to everyone who was involved in this project.

■Umi (Regal Lily, Bass) Comments
When I first saw Director Izumida’s proposal, I was reminded that the act of putting on makeup, something that has become so integrated into our daily lives, is actually a moment when we face our own soul through the mirror.
Maybe you want to look cheerful on days when you’re not feeling so great, for the sake of someone you love, or for yourself.
Maybe the city is full of people like that.

However, even if one could empathize with this through words, I think it would have been very difficult to convey this through video.
This expression was only possible thanks to Director Izumida, the entire cast, and Sugisaki Hana, who played the main character.
It was a breathtaking, mysterious moment when I was able to see feelings that would normally be invisible through Sugisaki’s gaze, gestures, and breathing as she performed in front of me.
I’m really looking forward to seeing what everyone will feel and think when watching this music video.
