Based on a novel posted on the novel posting site “monogatary.com”, mekakushe wrote the lyrics and composed the music, and Ryosuke Shigenaga arranged the music. The cover and lyric video, drawn by popular illustrator Natsuki Kirei, are also must-sees.
Monogatary.com is a novel submission site where users can freely submit “stories” to “topics” given by the site’s management every day, and have fun reacting to them in various ways, such as adding illustrations and comments. The past contest “Monogatary 2019” hosted by the site attracted a lot of attention, such as the birth of “YOASOBI,” a unit that turns novels into music, which has been extremely successful, with their hit song “Idol” reaching number one on the global charts.
“READ” is a collaborative project from “monogatary.com” featuring up-and-coming creators, mainly novelists, artists, and illustrators.
We will be releasing a few original songs and lyric videos based on the novels every month. It goes without saying that the original novels are fascinating, so please enjoy the reinterpretations of the novels by popular artists and creators.
We are now pleased to announce that the song “Ame wa Kotodama” from “READ” was released digitally today, Wednesday, September 4th.
The song is sung by the popular VTuber “Amagorinon.” “Amagorinon” is a virtual talent who debuted on August 12, 2023 from Sony Music’s VTuber project “VEE.” She focuses on singing and has gained popularity for her overwhelming singing ability. Her YouTube channel currently has over 78,100 subscribers.
On July 31st, she released her first original song, “Kyomu Kyomu Desu.” Although it is an ultra-aggressive song, it includes Tengorinon’s specialty high-pitched singing, rap, and death vocals, making it a song that allows you to fully enjoy VSinger Tengorinon.
“Ame wa Kotodama” was created based on the novel “Geori no Niwa” (The Garden of Words), posted on monogatary.com. The lyrics and music were written by mekaushe, one of the most popular singer-songwriters today, whose self-produced songs have been used in a Kao Laurier commercial, and many of his songs have been featured on the top artists of Spotify’s official playlist, achieving a total of 3 million plays. The arrangement was done by Shigenaga Ryosuke, who has written songs for various artists such as Nakagawa Shoko, Nakajima Megumi, and AKB48, and also provides live support as a keyboardist and bandmaster.
In a Japan that is divided into two groups based on whether or not one has reason, this film recreates the story of boys and girls born without reason.
This work is different from her first original song, “Mu Mu Mu Desu.” and gives a glimpse of another side of Tengorinon. We hope you enjoy listening to it and comparing it to the novel.
What’s more, popular illustrator Kirei Natsuki was in charge of the artwork and lyric video for the song “Ame wa Kotodama.”
The lyric video will also be released at midnight today, so please be sure to check it out.
“READ” is a project that allows you to experience a three-dimensional worldview through the three axes of novels, music, and illustrations.
Be sure to check out this collaboration between “Tenkorigorinon” and “Kirei Natsuki.”
