The original music video will be released today at 7pm
Azusagawa, a singer affiliated with KAMITSUBAKI STUDIO, released his original song “Tokyo Shinju” on Wednesday, September 4th.
“Tokyo Shinju” is a collaboration with composer Yoshihisa Hirata, who has long been highly praised and popular with listeners for his covers of songs such as “Japanese Summer” and “Katsuairon II.”
This long-awaited work features a lyrical rock sound with prominent piano and bass lines, and is a heart-wrenching song with a contrast between the strength and sadness of singing about mixed emotions of despair and longing.
The original music video will premiere on the Azusa River YouTube Channel from 7:00 PM on Wednesday, September 4th.
The dramatic music video, which features a certain man as the protagonist, was directed by Yoshihisa Hirata himself, and the illustrations were done by Uri, who also illustrated the cover of Azusagawa’s “Katsuairon II.”
The video more vividly expresses the worldview of the song.

This time, Yoshihisa Hirata wrote a wonderful song for us.
In fact, it’s been well over a year since we decided to write this song, and we’ve been trying and failing for quite a long time.
As I kept in close contact with Mr. Hirata and we worked out our respective preferences, I found myself falling in love with this song all over again.
I think we’ve created the best thing ever.
I hope this song will be loved by many people.

When Azusagawa approached me about producing a song for him, the first thing I thought was, “I don’t want to compromise on anything.”
During the production process, we exchanged many opinions, were very demanding, at times we waited patiently, and at other times we paid close attention to the finer details.
It’s a masterpiece.
