Singer-songwriter Abe Mao has released the lyric video for “Go Away From You” from her latest album, NOW, released last month, on her official YouTube channel.
This song is one of the songs on the album that is written entirely in English, and the lyric video, which shows the recording scene, also includes a Japanese translation. The mix of country and rock sounds well represents Mao Abe’s musicality and musical tastes of the present. The lyrics were written in English from the beginning, rather than being written in Japanese and then translated into English, making it a love song reminiscent of a breakup. In that sense, it can be said to be a song that foreshadows Mao Abe’s future direction.
