■ “I hope you enjoy this bright and energetic drama” (B’z)
B’z’s “Illumination” has been chosen as the theme song for the NHK morning drama “Omusubi” in the second half of 2024.
Set in the Heisei era, the protagonist encounters gal culture and eventually becomes a nutritionist, creating important connections, people, and the future in the Heisei era youth graffiti story “Omusubi.”
B’z’s music adds even more powerful excitement to the world of the story.

We live our lives laughing and crying, going over mountains and valleys, and when we arrive at a place where illuminations filled with the brilliance of unconditional love await us. I wrote the theme song for “Omusubi” with this hope in mind. I hope you enjoy it along with the bright and energetic drama.■Comment from Production Director Usagawa
“I want to cheer people up.” After seriously and fully thinking about this simple idea, I arrived at the answer: a theme song by B’z. The two of them are hit makers who represent the Heisei era (and the present), and more than anything, they have supported our days and lives through their many masterpieces. In fact, I was listening to B’z songs when I wrote the proposal for the TV drama series “Omusubi.”
A few months after I told the members of B’z about the feelings I had put into the drama, they delivered a song with the beautiful title “Illumination.” When I first heard the song, tears flowed from my eyes. The screenwriter Nemoto-san said he was also moved to tears. He felt that our lives and our days were being blessed in the most perfect way. I hope that through the drama, along with the warm “illumination” lit by the members of B’z, we can bring a bright day to everyone’s hearts.
