TREKKIE TRAX will be holding an anniversary party to celebrate its 12th anniversary at clubasia in Shibuya, Tokyo on Saturday, November 16th.
TREKKIE TRAX is an independent dance music label founded in May 2012 by five people: andrew, bank, Carpainter, futatsuki, and Seimei. With the slogan “Bringing Japanese music to the world,” the label has released over 200 singles and albums, about 1,000 songs, and is supported by top creators in a wide range of genres, including Skrillex, Diplo, Ben UFO, Four Tet, Kode9, and Gilles Peterson.
The headliner for this anniversary party will be L-VIS 1990 from the UK. He is the co-founder of the label Night Slugs, which has been releasing cutting-edge bass music, and in recent years has become known worldwide as a house project, Dance System. It has been eight years since he last visited Japan under the name L-VIS 1990, but he is now focusing on this name again, and his collaborations with Skrillex and Flowdan, which are yet to be released, are attracting a lot of attention on social media.
In addition to performing, the founding members of TREKKIE TRAX, such as Carpainter, Seimei, and andrew, will of course be appearing, as well as TREKKIE TRAX CREW, a sound unit made up of label founder members who have appeared at festivals such as FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL and ULTRA JAPAN this year, Masayoshi Iimori and Fellsius, who are attracting attention both in Japan and abroad, and Native Rapper, who composes and writes lyrics for various major artists in addition to his own activities.
Additional artists are scheduled to be announced in the future, with a total lineup of around 30 artists expected.
In addition, reservations are now being accepted for limited merchandise commemorating the 12th anniversary of the label’s founding. In the future, an anniversary tour will be held by artists belonging to TREKKIE TRAX, including in Korea and Taiwan.
