Monogatary.com is a novel submission site where users can freely submit “stories” to “topics” given by the site’s management every day, and have fun reacting to them in various ways, such as adding illustrations and comments. The past contest “Monogatary 2019” hosted by the site attracted a lot of attention, such as the birth of “YOASOBI,” a unit that turns novels into music, which has been extremely successful, with their hit song “Idol” reaching number one on the global charts.

“READ” is a collaborative project from “monogatary.com” featuring up-and-coming creators, mainly novelists, artists, and illustrators.

We are now pleased to announce that READ has digitally released the new song “The Moment (Which I’m Trapped)” by Killer Beach, the alternative rock band from Miyagi that is receiving a great response all over the world, today, Wednesday, September 18th.

Killer Beach is an alternative rock band from Miyagi formed in 2021 that plays catchy melodies that strike a chord with Japanese people, accompanied by an impulsive guitar sound rooted in garage rock and UK rock.

In 2022, they released their first album, “THE FIRST.” It sold out immediately at the CD shop The Domestic and reached number one on the “Tawakuru” charts at Tower Records stores, creating a buzz in the indie scene in their hometown of Miyagi and Tokyo.

Killer Beach has released a new song, “The Moment (Which I’m Trapped).” The song is based on the novel “It’s the Color of the Voice That Calls for Spring,” posted on monogatary.com.

The song recreates a novel that is set on a small island in the Seto Inland Sea and is filled with words that exude sensuality and melancholy, creating an exquisite balance of occasional sadness and emotional expression.

Please enjoy listening to the original version and comparing it with the novel.

What’s more, popular illustrator Jojodoboro was in charge of the artwork and lyric video for the song “Killer Beach.”

The lyric video will also be released today at 8pm, so please be sure to check it out.

“READ” is a project that allows you to experience a three-dimensional worldview through the three axes of novels, music, and illustrations.

Be sure to check out the works created in collaboration with “Killer Beach” and “Jojodoboro.”
