The sequel to the 2019 Finnish film “Heavy Trip,” which was a huge hit, “Heavy Trip II,” will be released at Cinemart Shinjuku and other theaters from December 20th!
On December 27, 2019, before anyone knew that the world would change completely in a few months, the movie “Heavy Trip” was released in theaters, unnoticed by movie fans and the film industry, with the catchphrase “If you regret it, shit your pants!”. The story is about a Finnish country metal cover band that hadn’t even performed live for 12 years, but who create their first and best original song ever, and struggle to participate in Norway’s largest metal festival.
Now, five years after its first release in Japan, the sequel “Heavy Trip II: We’re Nordic Metal in Danger!” has returned with even more power! The last scene of the previous film shows the members of the main characters’ band “IMPALED REKTUM” being arrested and detained right after their live performance. The story continues from there, and begins in prison.
The film’s music will be provided by Mika Lammassaari (MORS SUBITA/ETERNAL TEARS OF SORROW/WOLFHEART), who also provided the music for the previous film. Swedish occult rock band YEAR OF THE GOAT will also be taking part! Also appearing in the film will be a new original band called BLOODMOTOR, who wield a mysterious super-high-powered conductive death voice!
The still images released this time show the members of IMPALED REKTUM running away from something, suggesting that something unusual is happening.
