NEWS Masuda Takahisa x timelesz Matsushima So appears on the cover of "Soen"! Masuda makes his debut as a photographer with self-timer photography

Takahisa Masuda (NEWS) and So Matsushima (timelesz) will appear on the cover of the November issue of “Soen.”

The Soen Boys special is a feature published by Soen magazine every two years. It features talented people who are active in a variety of fields, including idols, actors, artists, creators, and comedians.

The cover and the opening feature feature feature Takahisa Masuda and So Matsushima. This collaboration in this magazine, which has finally come to fruition, features the two photographers taking pictures of each other, creating an emotional visual atmosphere that is sure to grab your attention.

Also appearing will be actor Masaki Suda, who shows many different sides to his character depending on the field in which he is active, and the fashion-loving duo of JO1’s Ren Kawashiri and Shoya Kimata.

NEWS Masuda Takahisa’s series MFBB will feature special guest timelesz Matsushima So, delivering an EXTRA EDITION that’s different from the usual.

In addition to their musical expressions through singing and dancing as idols and acting, Masuda and Matsushima also display their diverse talents in the fields of fashion and art, respectively. Although they are different types of people, one thing these two highly sensitive people share in common is their love of photography. Sometimes, it is the photographer’s perspective that captures a special moment, more so than their knowledge or skills.

So this time, a photo session was held where they confronted each other through the lens as photographer and subject. Based on the themes of “color” and “black and white” proposed by Masuda, they freely wore two different outfits and were photographed with their favorite cameras. After the shoot, we asked them what they saw through the lens from their perspective, and what they felt. They talked about new realizations and discoveries they had learned from cameras and photography, as well as their way of being as artists and their honest thoughts.

The cover features a self-timer shot of Masuda and Matsushima together. This is a rare photo that marks Masuda’s debut as a photographer, as he is both the photographer and the subject.

Masaki Suda’s latest film Cloud will be released on September 27th. His long-awaited first collaboration with director Kiyoshi Kurosawa, beloved by movie fans around the world, has produced an unprecedented action thriller. Ahead of the release of the film, which has also been announced for screening at overseas film festivals, Suda, with a calm and relaxed attitude, is in the same mood as he dons the latest fashions for autumn/winter 2024. ■ Ren Kawashiri & Shoya Kimata (JO1)
From JO1, fashion-loving Kawashiri Ren and Kimata Shoya appeared. Each chose three fashion keywords that they are particular about, and a special shoot was created with styling that makes those favorite items the main focus.

Kawajiri wore a cropped jacket (commonly known as a lotus length) and a jacket with a “handcrafted feel.” Kimata wore voluminous pants and shorts. They were also photographed wearing their favorite “frameless glasses.” The interview, overflowing with love for fashion, is also a must-read.
