SUPER BEAVER writes new theme song “Manazashi” for the movie “Kaneko Sashiiriten” starring Maruyama Ryuhei! “There’s no reason not to do it”

The theme song for the movie “Kanekosashiiriten” (to be released in 2025), starring Ryuhei Maruyama (SUPER EIGHT), has been decided to be “Manazashi”, a newly written song by SUPER BEAVER.

This work is set in a “delivery shop” that delivers food to people held in prisons and detention centers, and depicts the human drama of the various circumstances faced by the people there, as well as the bonds between the families that run the delivery shop.

Director Furukawa Go explained why he chose SUPER BEAVER, saying, “They said there was no reason not to do it. This work is made up of almost all of the people, from Maruyama to the other actors and staff, who have shared the good times and the bad with me in this industry. I also had a connection with SUPER BEAVER through the live-action film series, ‘Tokyo Revengers.'” He revealed that, following on from Kitamura Takumi, one of the cast members of this film, his connection with them comes from the ‘Tokyo Revengers’ series, on which Furukawa served as assistant director.

He continued, “The finished song was so moving that all words paled in comparison. ‘Kaneko Sashiiri Ten’ only becomes a complete work when you experience the theme song. Please enjoy it to your heart’s content,” in a comment filled with overflowing joy and respect for SUPER BEAVER.

SUPER BEAVER (Yanagisawa Ryota) wrote, “Where do we direct our gaze, and how? Who directs their gaze at whom, and why do they direct their gaze there? Even in today’s world where there are so many things that we don’t want to see and don’t want to show, there is certainly beauty that we want to show. I believe this is a work that was written in order to pass on this legacy, thinking of people, thinking of the future, and embracing the insights that were handed to us by others. I am very honored to have been involved in this production.” He talked about what he felt through the work, his thoughts on the song “Manazashi” that was created in response to it, and his joy at being able to take part in a work directed by Furukawa.

This casting was born out of fate. The song “Manazashi” written specifically for “Kaneko Sashiiriten” is sure to bring even more emotion to this tear-jerking human suspense drama about family ties.

■ Comment from Director Go Furukawa
He said, “There’s no reason not to do it.”
This work was made possible thanks to the connections made with Maruyama, the other actors, the staff, and almost all of the people who have shared the good times and the bad with me in this industry.
SUPER BEAVER also had a connection with us through the live-action film series “Tokyo Revengers.”
But they are a monster band, as everyone knows. It must not have been easy, especially in the midst of all sorts of things, but they said that to me. I was thrilled.
The finished song was so moving that any words seemed pale in comparison.
“Kaneko Sashiiriten” is a complete work only when you experience the theme song. Please enjoy it to your heart’s content.

■ Comment from SUPER BEAVER (Ryota Yanagisawa)
The very last scene of “Kaneko Sashiiriten” felt like it expressed one of the truths of this world.
Where and how do we direct our gaze, who is directing their gaze at whom, and why are they directed there?
Even though today there are so many things we don’t want to see or show, there is certainly beauty that we want to show.
I believe this work was created with the artist’s thoughts of people and the future in mind, and with the insights that were handed down to him by others, in order to carry on this tradition.
I am very honored to have been involved in this production.
Congratulations to Director Furukawa, as well as all the cast and staff on completing the film.
