22/7 Mao Asaoka’s first photobook “Mirror of Light” features a winter photo of her wearing a knitted top that shows off her beautiful backline.

Winter photos taken at Sugadaira Plateau in Nagano Prefecture from 22/7 Mao Asaoka’s first solo photobook, “Mirror of Light,” have been released.

The photobook “Mirror of Light” began with a search for a winter location. The project was started after Asaoka wrote in her blog update early in 2024 that her goal was to “publish a photobook.” When the project started, cherry blossom buds were already swelling in the city center, and the snow was starting to melt little by little in Sugadaira Plateau, a region known for its heavy snowfall in Nagano Prefecture. Although the environment was far from ideal, Asaoka says she thoroughly enjoyed shooting in the snowy fields for the first time.

■ Comment from Mao Asaoka
The winter scenes were mainly shot in Nagano Prefecture. There was still snow on the ground during the shoot, so we were able to take some fantastic winter shots!
I especially remember being able to take photos with snow. The costume was very cute and inspired by snow fairies, and I love it!
During the shoot in the knitted outfit, I was told that my back line was beautiful, which left an impression on me. There are many expressions that I don’t usually make, so please look forward to the cuts in the photobook!
