Hachi (Kenshi Yonezu) draws the original illustration for “Donut Hole” after 11 years! New MV released, collaboration with GODIVA

■GODIVA×HACHI Donut Hole Collection now on sale!

After 11 years, Hachi (Kenshi Yonezu) has created a new illustration for the VOCALOID song “Donut Hole”, and a fully animated music video has been created based on the original illustration. In addition, original chocolate will be released from Godiva Japan as the “GODIVA x HACHI Donut Hole Collection” on October 1st.

“Donut Hole” is a work that was released on October 28, 2013, by Hachi (Kenshi Yonezu), who produced the music and video himself. The MV features four characters: GUMI, Hatsune Miku, Megurine Luka, and Kagamine Rin, sung by the vocaloid GUMI.

This time, Hachi (Kenshi Yonezu) has re-drawn the characters from that time, and based on the original drawings and ideas, a new full-animation music video has been created. The music video is directed by Yuki Kamiya, animated character designer is Takahiro Chiba, produced by Production IG, and produced by a gorgeous lineup including BLUE RIGHTS. Based on the keyword “It doesn’t matter if it’s broken,” which Kenshi Yonezu established in “LOST CORNER,” four people, GUMI, Hatsune Miku, Luka Megurine, and Rin Kagamine, who run a junk collection business, appear. The video has a new story.

In addition, the “GODIVA x HACHI Donut Hole Collection” to be released by Godiva is a special product that includes printed chocolate with a new original drawing of “Donut Hole” and “Donut Chocolat” newly created by Godiva in an original design box. It is a collection. The products will be sold at Godiva Shops, GODIVA cafes, and Godiva Online Shops nationwide from October 1st. This is the first time Godiva has developed a collection lineup in collaboration with an artist.

A new “donut hole” that also connects to the world line of the album “LOST CORNER”. Enjoy the new music video and Godiva chocolate.

“It doesn’t matter if it’s broken.”

GUMI, Hatsune Miku, Megurine Luka, and Kagamine Rin run a junk collection business in a cluttered downtown area. Riding in a light truck, they collect broken TVs, computers, and other items while playing goofy announcements over the speakers. The office is set up in the corner of a multi-tenant building under the guise of being a recycle shop, but it looks more like a warehouse with mostly junk lined up with price tags pasted on them. Before they know it, these four people start receiving requests for junk that they can’t handle on their own, and by chance, abandoned items end up in the hands of GUMI and his friends.

Meanwhile, an environmental beautification organization has been established in the center of the city, and a campaign to clean up the downtown area is about to begin under the banner of beautiful city redevelopment. GUMI and his friends rebel against the life in the downtown area, which is gradually being threatened. As the government and beautification organizations are swirling with their own agendas, an emergency news report that a dangerous creature has been found in a garbage mountain is released, and the “Garbage Mountain Beautification Operation” to clear the entire downtown area into vacant land begins in a hurry.
