GLAY’s unreleased song has been chosen as the theme song for HBC Hokkaido’s drama series “Mikasa no King to Tokasakunin” starring Mahiro Takasugi and Tokio Emoto.

This work stars actors Mahiro Takasugi and Tokio Emoto. Based on a bittersweet love story and the uproar caused by local young people who find it difficult to live in modern society at Bon Odori, this film is about thinking about a new way for the region and creating a region and people where young people grow together with the town. An original story with a theme.

The theme song, “Beautiful like you,” has been performed live, but it has never been released as a sound source, and has been passed down as a “hidden masterpiece” among fans. It is a majestic ballad that makes you feel sincere love, and it is a song that foretells GLAY’s new signature song in the future.

GLAY will release their latest album “Back To The Pops” on October 9th.

■TAKURO (GLAY) Comment
Although this work has been performed live, it has not been officially released until now, and has been cherished.
When I read the script for the drama, I thought that the worldview of the song and the story of the drama were a perfect match, so I accepted the offer from HBC, a media company that represents GLAY’s hometown of Hokkaido.
The new album is packed with GLAY’s Pop from various angles.
Please look forward to it.

■Mahiro Takasugi comment
I thought it was a song that would give me courage and push me back, and I felt like I was surrounded by the clear Hokkaido air that I felt while filming.
Let’s remember the difficult and fun days of filming, and let’s try harder and move forward. It’s a song that will give you a pat on the back.
I’m looking forward to the day when the drama will air with you!

■Tokio Emoto comment
When I listened to the song, I felt the original scenery that reminded me of the time when I was filming on location in Mikasa City, Hokkaido for about a month.
I’m happy to be able to work on a piece with wonderful lyrics and a theme song.
thank you very much.
