leift releases new single “Morning”. The result is a song that gently moves the body in Amapiano’s style, with a hook guided by an impressive melody.

“Morning” is a mid-tempo song that features leift’s signature melodic vocals and bass-rich grooves. The story is structured so that the main character, who feels that his present self is different from what he dreamed of when he was a boy, student, or when he entered society, talks to his past self. Times have changed so much that it is natural that the correct way of living is different than it was a while ago. As the lyrics say, “Rather than looking for the right answer, we layer meaning,” and look forward by thinking about how what you are living now will mean to your future self. By putting it on Amapiano’s style track, we aimed to create a song that would be close to the hearts of adults who know the harshness of reality. The sound was produced using vintage synths and even more abundant vintage analog recording equipment, and the mastering was once again handled by Stuart Hawkes of Metropolis Studios in the UK.

I think everyone has felt that way, “I’ve come to a completely different place than what I was aiming for.” In today’s world, where there are so many common sense ideas and ways to be happy, it’s easy to get lost and worried. But on the other hand, I think it means that we don’t have to stick to the old correct answers. This song, “Morning,” sings about this in itself, and the way the song itself is also challenges that.
