The double-titled single “Sorrows” by Aichi Prefecture rapper Sharaku and beat maker/producer Aru-2 was released today, October 2nd (Wednesday).
Sharaku has attracted attention through numerous MC battles, including the “High School RAP Championship”, and released his 1st album “MIMISOJI” in 2021. Aru-2, on the other hand, is known for his participation in and providing beats for the works of numerous artists such as JJJ, COSA, Daichi Yamamoto, KID FRESINO, ISSUGI, and Nariaki Obukuro, as well as constantly releasing works for his own projects. In May of this year, she released her latest album “Anida”.
“Sorrows” is the lead single from the joint album “Sakurazaka” scheduled to be released on November 6th (Wednesday). This song was created during Sharaku’s stay on Awaji Island, and it is a song that combines a warm, sparse beat with Sharaku’s gentle rap and hook.
The album “Sakurazaka” is said to be a work that captures the chemical reaction between Aru-2’s deep and emotional beats and Sharaku’s rapping, which calmly spins lyrics with a rich sense of melody. The artwork is by Yoshito Ikeda, a Kagoshima designer/artist who also works on Aru-2 related works. It is also planned to be released on CD and vinyl, and the CD will have a double-page jacket with special bonus tracks.
