■Tsuyoshi Domoto appears at the movie “Maru” x Osaka University of Arts giant “Maru” art production event!
The movie “Maru” x Osaka University of Arts talk and giant “maru” art production event was held on October 2nd, and Tsuyoshi Domoto, who stars in the movie “Maru,” attended.
This event was held at the Osaka University of Arts Sky Campus gallery on the 24th floor of Abeno Harukas, a symbol of Kansai. Tsuyoshi Domoto appeared in the gallery, where about 40 students and a giant piece of art measuring 2 meters high and 6 meters wide was displayed, and was greeted by the art students.
First of all, regarding his first solo lead role in a movie in 27 years, he said, “It was a very challenging and difficult role, but even though I was worried, I was able to play it while regaining my sense of acting.Everyone on set created a peaceful atmosphere. I was able to relax and act because I was able to act in a relaxed manner,” he said about his first starring role in a while.
Regarding the filming, “When I asked the director on set about the emotional state of the lines, he replied, “I’m sure that’s true,” or “I think it’s probably okay.” The correct answer for each scene was determined through discussion on set. “There were many scenes where I felt ’round’ for the first time when I played the role,” he said, looking back on his struggles during filming.
The main character of this work, Sawada, is an artist who graduated from an art university, and when asked about what artists should value in connection with the location of this event, Osaka University of Arts, he answered, “Just live your life.” “It’s not a genre that many people listen to in Japan, but it expresses that everyone is positive and everyone is attractive.” , “The reason I like funk is because I like it myself. I live every day toward the answers that I have within myself,” he said about his own musical activities.
This is where the main part of the event, the giant round art piece, was created. When I saw it in front of them again, I said, “It’s energetic, and I feel like each person’s color is reflected,” and said, “I want to value the ‘miscellaneous tastes,’ but each person is born as an individual. Because of this, they have their own individuality and charm, and when they draw a picture, it is reflected through their own hands, so I got the impression from this painting that they are doing their best, that they are working hand in hand. “It gave me a lot of strength,” he said. Then, he carefully painted over and over a large circle, just like Sawada in the movie, with black paint, and as the audience watched intently, the artwork was completed.
Finally, in front of the work, he said, “I will do my best to live my life. You only have one life to live, so people around you may say things about you, but I hope you live your life strong and kindly in your own way.” Once again, I would like to express my heartfelt encouragement to the students who cooperated this time as seniors in my life, and the event ended in a very artistic space.
