This time, the shooting location was a cool highland at an altitude of 1,800 meters, and as soon as Aiba arrived at the scene, he commented, “It feels refreshing and feels good,” and seemed very satisfied with the perfect conditions. After receiving an explanation from the director, “The scene is about eating delicious food with friends in a happy environment, I hope we can continue filming all day long,” and I quickly got ready in front of the camera. At the beginning of the commercial, in the scene where she waves to her close friends, Aiba calls out with a big smile, “Hey, here we come. Hey!” The director praised her performance, saying, “It was very good.” “The sun’s rays made the highlights shine on Aiba-san’s face, and we were able to take the best picture!”, he said, getting off to a good start.

The scene where Aiba eats potato chips was shot while keeping an eye on the position of the sun and the sky in order to record the best shot that takes advantage of natural light. As if the wishes of everyone at the scene had come true, the filming’s natural enemy, the clouds, had completely disappeared, and filming proceeded smoothly. It was a difficult shoot to shoot the scene in which everyone, centering on Aiba, jumps to express their happiness, but the shots needed to be in perfect synchronization, but they shot all day from the morning and became really close friends. As a result, it was a success in just a few takes.

–Please tell us your impressions of shooting the commercial.
Aiba:It was such a happy time to be in such a comfortable place, eating such delicious potato chips, and having fun with my friends. Eating potato chips in the fresh air is the best. It was very pleasant to shoot at an altitude of 1,800 meters where you don’t feel the humidity.
――You also sang a song in the commercial, what did you think?
Aiba:I thought the song was really good. It has a nostalgic tone, and I felt that it was a melody that would easily resonate with many people.
――What do you think of the potato chips made with Koikeya’s original brand potatoes “Golden Fruit” and “Shirokane Dandy”?
Aiba:It was really delicious. The crunchy texture and the sweet potato scent that left my nose at the end felt a little different than before, and I was reminded once again that “potatoes are important.” The taste was entwined with the jagged surface, making it very satisfying to eat. It was delicious. I like both, but every year I like the “Nori Salt” type of potato chips more and more, so if I had to choose, I’d rather eat the “Shirokane Dandy Aonori no Ouou Suji Aonori” first.
–The happy expression on your face while eating potato chips was impressive, but please tell us about a recent episode in which you felt happy.
Aiba:This is the photo shoot. I was happy to be able to shoot here, and I’m also grateful that I was taken to a surreal place. I was very happy to be able to eat such delicious potato chips.
――In connection with “The Ultimate Potato Chip Plan,” what are you mastering or what do you want to master in the future?
Aiba:There are many things I want to master. I approach every job with a single-minded desire to master any genre. In my private life, I would like to master something I like, such as English or golf.
–What do you want to do this fall?
Aiba:I love reading, so I want to read, regardless of the fall season. I also want to try some autumn foods. I always look forward to seasonal foods like matsutake mushrooms and saury. This applies not only to potato chips but also to any food, but I think eating makes you happy.
