Kohei Matsushita’s first essay collection “Fukisa Chief” will be released! A talk event commemorating the publication will also be held.

■“I would be happy if everyone could have this book somewhere in their lives.” (Kohei Matsushita)

It has been decided that Kohei Matsushita will release his essay collection “Fukisa Chief” on December 13th.

The title of this book, “Fukisa Chief,” refers to the fixative fluid that artists spray on their completed paintings at the end to prevent them from fading or peeling off.

This book, which is his first collection of essays, depicts everyday scenery and encounters through “writing” and organizes them with “.” in order to “become Kohei Matsushita’s own daily “fukisa chief.” This is a compilation of a series of essays that began with this idea.In addition to the serialized essays published in the magazine “Da Vinci” from the April 2021 issue to the January 2024 issue, it includes two newly written essays.

Although he leads a busy life where there is not a day when he is not seen in the living room, such as on dramas or commercial music programs, the stories that he has carefully written are about the gap between his role and himself, and his thoughts on producing a full album and writing songs. One day, I was surrounded by thoughts, things I needed to do, and a lot of unfinished business. The story is about a precious “grandpa” who, with Matsushita’s help, decided to get rid of more than 3,000 books because his eyesight had deteriorated. When your stomach hurts, there’s a certain being who tells you, “It’s okay.”

Amid the rush of success, while making his dreams come true, he decides that he doesn’t want to be lonely, talks with others, and respects others…The author’s writings are written in a way that is close to the reader’s side and speaks softly. It’s full of kindness that makes you feel like you’re wearing a mask.

This is an essay full of Kouhei Matsushita’s personality that will make you laugh at times, and leave you with a feeling of warmth, a little courage, and the words “It’s okay” after reading it.

■The illustrations for the book cover, cover, and illustrations are all done by Kohei Matsushita himself!
Matsushita, who had attended an art school, put his talents to use to the fullest and drew the cover illustration and cover of this book. All the illustrations on the inside were also done by the author himself. It is also a book that you would want to display on your bookshelf.

In addition, to commemorate the release of “Fukisa Chief”, it has been decided that a talk event to commemorate the publication will be held by Kohei Matsushita himself.

■Kohei Matsushita comment
This is my first essay book.
In preparing the book, I read and re-read all the sentences over and over again.
“That happened to me,” he says, nostalgically, while laughing to himself, “I’m writing nonsense.” This diary-like essay is filled with my thoughts from 2021.
The days when I laughed, cried, and got lost are irreplaceable treasures for me, even if they are not glamorous. I would be happy if you could place this book somewhere in your life, along with the cover illustration that depicts yourself standing in the middle of ordinary days.
