It has been decided that Upsilon’s second mini-album “Signifier” will be released on June 19th.
Upsilon is a singer-songwriter who is attracting the most attention right now, captivating people with her mysterious singing voice that sounds like a boy and a girl, and whose songs have been played over 12.5 million times on digital distribution services.
This work, “Signified,” is a challenging piece that explores the “signified” aspect of the “sound” and “meaning” that form words. He ponders the meaning and possibilities of expression, and expresses them through music.
The song “Byakuya”, which will be distributed on May 1st, tells the story of finding the “words” to convey to someone special, and is sung as if reading a letter, accompanied by a light piano and guitar. Upsilon says that it was inspired by Keigo Higashino’s novel “Byakuya Gyou” and depicts the main character who simply looks at the person he cares about and searches for the words he wants to convey.
In addition, the first edition of this work includes a booklet with liner notes, and the first edition and regular edition include one random sticker (4 types in total) on a first-come, first-served basis.
