Nao Kawamura will release new song “Call me” for the first time in two and a half years

It has been announced that alternative pop singer Nao Kawamura will release her new single “Call me” on Wednesday, October 30th.

Nao Kawamura has made her presence felt through her participation in SUNNY ONLY1’s 1st EP “Electric Drive” and Shinichi Osawa’s single “COPY ME,” but it has been about a while since she released a new song under her own name since her 2nd album “Elemental pop” (2022). It’s been two and a half years.

This album features Somaphiq, an up-and-coming producer from Colombia, and features a driving drum’n’bass, a sophisticated hyper-pop sound, and an R&B melody. In addition, the lyrics reflect Nao’s light mind, which has changed over the course of two years of production and the coronavirus pandemic, and the song is addressed to a friend who is having troubles. It also contains a light-hearted message: “Let’s live by helping each other and not pushing ourselves when times are tough.”

The music video, which is scheduled to be released soon, was produced by Florian Balke, CEO of Mori, a German video team that has collaborated with many famous brands and won the 2023 Sports Emmy Award. Filming took place in Berlin and Tokyo.

It looks like it will be Nao Kawamura’s restart song, which sends a message not only in Japan but also to friends around the world.

In addition, a release party for this work will be held on November 8th (Friday) at Shibuya TRUNK (HOTEl) CAT STREET in Tokyo. In addition to Nao Kawamura, singers and DJs who are close to her are also scheduled to appear. Entrance is free on the day of the event, so be sure to check it out.

Two years had passed since I was holed up in the studio, searching for music that would make me feel excited.

It was an important two years for me to return to my roots, and I feel like this song, which was completed during those years, is filled with words I want to say to myself.

I am also happy to have had so many connections this time, and to be able to share my work with the world as a global team.

Furthermore, for the release party, in honor of “Call Me,” we invited artist friends that we would like to talk about right now.
