The time is Muromachi, Kyoto on the eve of the Onin War. A chain of great famines and epidemics, and countless corpses piling up on the streets. In such a world of chaos, there were people who appeared like the wind and challenged the great power… Hyoue Hasuda was the first samurai class in Japanese history to stage an uprising, and his name remains in history only once. “Muromachi Burai”, a dramatic depiction of the unknown struggle of the “outlaws” who gathered under him, will be released on January 17th.
The main character, Hyoue Hasuda, is a scoundrel and master swordsman who swims through a chaotic world with only his skills and talent, secretly harboring ambitions to overthrow the shogunate and reform society. Hiroshi Oizumi, who has now become a national star, plays the role. A character with an attractive power that attracts those around him is exactly what he is into. In addition, Oizumi, who is now 50 years old, energetically breathes life into the character of Hyoe, taking on the role of a sword master and taking on a full-fledged sword fight/action for the first time, playing the role of “the coolest man in Oizumi’s history.”
Kenmo Nagao of Naniwa Danshi was chosen to play the role of Saizo, who is picked up by Hyoe and grows both physically and mentally. Akira Emoto plays the role of the old master who teaches Saizo how to use the stick, while Kazuki Kitamura plays Yoshiomi Nawa, an influential daimyo who oppresses the people and indulges in extravagance. ■Story
Miyako in 1461, on the eve of the Onin War. Great famine and pestilence struck this country. More than 80,000 corpses were piled up in the Kamogawa River in just two months, and human trafficking and slave labor are rampant. However, the people in power at the time were incompetent and just spent their days enjoying themselves. As the money economy progressed, the rich became even richer, creating an unprecedentedly unequal society.
Hasudabei is a free man who swims through a world of chaos using only his skills and talent. As he wanders from place to place, his gaze stares off into the distance, at the dawn of the Dark Ages.
