Masayoshi Iimori released his new album “Tras EP” today, October 25th (Friday).
This work includes a total of three songs collaborated with up-and-coming producers from Japan and South Korea. The title song “Tras” is a collaboration song with the sound unit REXY=DEXY, and the main trap idea was created by REXY=DEXY. Although it has a large-scale soundscape that can only be expected from a duo that has performed at many large festivals, it is a song that crosses over various genres such as techno, trap, and baile funki.
The second song “Enlight” features rejection from the trap/bass music label WE DIE YOUNG. The drops were mainly produced by rejection, and Masayoshi Iimori added ethnic sounds to complement them. In response, rejection created a percussive development in the second half, resulting in a diverse track.
The last track “Seeker” was co-written with South Korean artist Ruxxi. Ruxxi is a producer with a track record of releases on labels run by leading dubstep producers such as Flux Pabilion, Chime, and Borgore.
At first, he was aiming for a deep song, but he shuffled the sound to bring it closer to a current UK bass sound, and he took inspiration from that, and ended up creating a song that also incorporated elements of UK drill.
In recent years, Masayoshi Iimori has been notable for large-scale collaborations such as producing songs for major artists. This work, which includes collaborations with notable producers who are younger than himself, develops a fresher and more exciting style.
