[WASUTA]Appearing at B League Kawasaki's halftime show! "I'm glad we were able to perform in a lively space filled with cheers and support."

WASUTA appeared at the halftime show of the official B League match between Kawasaki Brave Thunders and Gunma Crane Thunders held at Todoroki Arena on October 25th, and performed two songs to liven up the venue.

Wasuta is a digital native generation idol formed in 2015, whose members include Nanase Hirokawa, Misato Matsuda, Ririka Kodama, and Ruka Mishina.

To date, they have set their sights on the world, performing live in 13 countries, and have been in charge of songs for numerous anime such as “Idol Time PriPara” and “Kiratto Pri☆chan.”

In March of this year, they successfully held their 9th anniversary live in Tokyo (EX THEATER ROPPONGI) and Osaka (umeda TRAD). The idol group released their 13th single “Natsukoi Dilemma” on August 21st, and is accelerating as they approach their 10th anniversary in March next year.

The 2024-25 season of the B League began in October. The games have a strong entertainment element and are gaining attention as live sports entertainment. In the past, many artists have performed during halftime at official B League games, and this was WASUTA’s first performance at an official B League game.

When the first half of the heated game ended and the members appeared on the court at halftime, Matsuda called out, “It’s a short time, but we hope you’ll dance with us!” and “Inu Neko.” The boosters of both teams performed the two songs, “Seishun Makimori” and “Seishun Awosu Te Tadaku Nyaa,” cutely and brightly from inside the court, which had a 360-degree view, and received a big round of applause from the entire venue.

After the performance, we asked all the members what they thought.

Matsuda, who used to play basketball in his club activities, said, “It was my first time to watch a professional league live, so it was like a dream to be able to perform live at halftime after watching such an intense game. I was probably the most nervous, but it was fun to be able to perform in a lively atmosphere filled with the warm support of the fans who had gathered at the venue.”It was a performance I had always wanted. It seems like it was.

Kodama said, “I think there were a lot of people who didn’t know who WASUTA were, with the lights and the atmosphere that felt like we were performing at a live venue, but they danced with us and clapped with smiles. I was very happy to be able to perform in such a warm atmosphere.When I stood on the court, I was so close to the audience, and I could see each person’s face clearly, so I was a little nervous. It was a fun experience,” he said, adding that he was able to perform while enjoying the atmosphere of the venue.

Mishina said, “I was able to perform at a place called basketball, which I had never had much experience with, and although I am very interested in and love basketball, this was my first time watching a game live, and I was very happy to have this opportunity. Looking back, Hirokawa also touched on the atmosphere in the venue during the game, saying, “It’s not that I don’t know the rules of basketball at all, but it was my first time watching a basketball game live, so I was a little nervous, wondering if I would understand.” However, there were explanations and the atmosphere was easy to watch even for first-timers, so it was a lot of fun because I was able to perform with high spirits before the concert,” he said with a satisfied expression.
