WEST., which celebrated its 10th anniversary since its debut in 2024, has teamed up with WOWOW to create a movie based on their original live show “WEST. 10th Anniversary Live “W”, which took on an unprecedented concept. It will be released in 105 theaters nationwide from November 22nd to December 5th.

In this performance, in addition to the colorful and energetic performance that has captivated people since her debut, she will stoically show off her own “strength,” “wildness,” “sex appeal,” and “bewitching” with a band and strings in the background. expression.

In addition to the 19 songs delivered in the broadcast version, including representative songs from the past 10 years, songs performed for the first time live, and full-length performance songs, two new songs have been added to the movie version. It also includes premium content that has been completely re-edited for the movie, including unreleased behind-the-scenes footage.

In addition to the standard 5.1ch surround sound that colors the theater space, we have also created Dolby Atmos (R), a powerful immersive audio (the latest immersive sound system that gives you a sense of realism). An even more luxurious experience will be possible at participating theaters.

I’ve only ever appeared in theater shows where I had to act, but I’m really happy to hear that our live performance will be shown on a big screen with powerful sound. I think there are songs that are even better now. Even if we had done the same setlist 10 years ago when we just debuted, I don’t think it would have been as appealing as it is now, and now we have everything that we can do as a life-sized version of ourselves, so we can do it with a lot of different people. When I heard about this original live performance, I was shocked. It was a style of live performance that we had never done before, so I wondered what kind of atmosphere the fans would have when watching it at the theater, and I simply wanted to see it and go. Masu. There were a lot of cameras at the scene, but I was conscious of not being too conscious of it. I had decided that I wanted to make it so that it didn’t matter whether it was the back view or where it was cut out. There were some songs that I had choreographed for the first time in about 10 years, and I think we were able to bring out a new atmosphere for WEST. I think there are probably a lot of scenes that fans will like and want to watch over and over again. I hope everyone can watch it while looking for their favorite scenes.

When I heard that it would be made into a movie, I was simply happy and excited to see what it would be like. I want people to enjoy themselves while eating and drinking their favorite food, which is a unique way to enjoy movie theaters. That’s something you don’t really get to do at regular live shows. If it were a regular live show, it would be difficult to watch it every day, but with movies, you can reach more people, and you can watch them as many times as you like during the release period (lol)! Please enjoy it at the theater.

I was surprised when I heard about this movie being made into a movie. Being able to see our live show in theaters and in 47 prefectures across the country made me feel simply happy, surprised, and for a moment I thought, “Is it okay?” I was joking around a lot (lol). This live show was recorded with a large number of cameras, so unlike normal live recordings, you can see the members’ various expressions. As for the costumes, most of the costumes I usually wear at concerts are sparkly, but for the recording, I started off with casual clothes, so I’d be happy if people would pay attention to my costumes as well. Personally, I thought, “This costume suits me too!” and I sing while wearing Hamada’s favorite clothes. It’s really important to sing while wearing your favorite clothes (lol).

◇Nozomi Kotaki
I was happy that by making it into a movie, more people would have the opportunity to see the live performance. We’ve done a lot of things for our 10th anniversary to express our gratitude to our fans, but I think this movie adaptation is one of the big events that will make them happy. I think it’s a great luxury for us to be able to watch our live performance on the big screen, and it’s like, “Thank you for allowing us to monopolize the big screen.” I hope that people can enjoy our live show just like going to the movie theater.
