OGGYWEST releases new song & MV that explodes with “feelings for 2008”

OGGYWEST, a rap duo from Nishi-Ogikubo, Tokyo, released their new single “’08” today, November 1st (Friday). A music video was also released at the same time.

OGGYWEST released last year’s “Musopta” and its deluxe version “Re:무섭다” in March this year. Since then, their individual activities have been noticeable, such as LEXUZ YEN’s solo project becoming more active.

This song, which was released in the midst of all this, was triggered by an image of two members of OGGYWEST who were around 20 years old sent together by their friend CHIYORI, and it is said that this song was an explosion of feelings for the time of the photo (2008). The music video released at the same time was shot by his close friend T-mongol and directed by LEXUZ YEN himself. The shooting took place in LEXUZ YEN’s hometown, Tsurukawa.

[LEXUZ YEN (OGGYWEST) comment]

This song was completed in about 3 hours, from selecting the material to lyrics, recording, and mixing. I’m not boasting about my speed, but I feel like it was important for OGGY, who were always looking back, to not get too absorbed in Backin the Day and finish it quickly. Listen! !

[Young Kyun (OGGYWEST) comment]

2008 was 16 years ago. OGGY started in 2016, so 8 years ago. It feels strange, like it’s both long and short. It seems like a lot has changed, but maybe not much has changed. 16 years from now, I would like to be able to listen to my rapping like this to myself back then.
