■“(Yamada Ryosuke) is supposed to be by far the most active of the members, but after work I’m sometimes surprised to find out he’s already streaming games (lol)” (Inoo Kei)
Hey!Say!JUMP, who will be releasing their new album “H⁺” on November 27th, will be on the cover of the November 13th issue of the weekly women’s gravure magazine “anan”.
Hey! Say! JUMP continues to evolve, challenging themselves with a variety of songs and performances while still sticking to the classic POP route. This time, we are presenting a toy box-like gravure where you can enjoy both their catchy charm and adult side.
In addition, in the interview, we will delve into what the members think of “JUMP-ness” and their professional and passionate feelings toward the “idol” profession as they celebrate their 17th anniversary since their debut, amidst the proliferation of junior groups and boy groups.
■The shooting theme is “JUMP in WONDERLAND”
The theme of this shoot is “JUMP in WONDERLAND”. This is a story-telling gravure that depicts eight people changing from rough work clothes to formal attire and going out to a secret party. The first thing that was filmed was a behind-the-scenes solo scene where she was “transforming” from her work clothes, including denim jumpsuits and overalls, to a party look.
When I was called to the set wearing a T-shirt with a tie, or a shirt over overalls, I was confused and asked, “Are you okay with this?” “Are you going to change clothes after this?” There are also members who speak.
Each of the eight people quickly struck a pose, resting their elbows on the torso, sliding off their sunglasses, and buttoning their shirts. The high potential of the eight members, whose movements and expressions change every time the shutter is pressed, makes you feel the dignity and accomplishments of these 17-year-old idols.
Next, we put our work clothes back on and took a group shot. We prepared props such as deck brushes and drums to take pictures of eight people working part-time. Laughing naturally, resting their chins on the deck brush, and moving the floor sign, you can see the coolness of adults in the cuteness, and the emotional world view that can only be expressed by the current Hey! Say! JUMP. It became a gravure.
■”I don’t want to be photographed after these two (*Ryosuke Yamada x Yuto Nakajima)” (Yuri Chinen)
The final photo shoot was of eight people wearing monochrome suits at a party. The background is covered with white and black tiles, creating a fantastical atmosphere that makes you feel like you’ve wandered into a fairy tale world. The shooting started with buddy shots of the two people. After changing their clothes, the first pair to appear at the studio was Ryosuke Yamada and Yuto Nakajima. The two of them stood in front of the monochrome tiles and struck poses one after another, looking so cool that all the staff spontaneously erupted in applause.
Yuri Chinen, who was watching the filming, joked, “I don’t want to film after these two,” and the whole studio burst into laughter. Photographed in four combinations: Chinen x Daiki Arioka, Kei Inoo x Yuya Takagi, and Hikaru Yaotome x Kota Yabu. A must-see are the stylish buddy cuts that reveal the individuality of each duo.
At the end, when the 8 people lined up on the studio set, there was an overwhelming aura! A variety of facial expressions are captured, from cool expressions to soft smiles.
Let’s fully enjoy “JUMP in WONDERLAND” where 8 people invite you to a “secret party”.
■JUMP members talk about each other’s “things that we think are amazing as idols”
This magazine will be released on Memorial Day, the day before the 17th anniversary of our debut. In the interview, we not only talked about their new album “H⁺” but also talked about their thoughts on the profession of “idol” now that it’s been 17 years since their debut, the future of Hey! Say! JUMP, and what the members think is “JUMP-like.” Dig deep into your true feelings about your current location and future.
There will also be a special column asking each other what they think is amazing about being an idol. Inoo told Yamada that he is sometimes surprised, saying, “Even though he is by far the most active of the members, after we finish working together, he’s already streaming games (lol).” He praised Yamada’s high level of professionalism, saying, “Yamada is very mature, both physically and mentally, so he can do this.” Which “idol power” did the other members evaluate?
