■“Denim really teaches us the important things in life.” (Tsuyoshi Kusanagi)
“STAY BRAVE”, an exhibition showcasing vintage denim owned by Tsuyoshi Kusanagi (“Nagi” is officially spelled as the front of the old font + sword), will be held at 6142 in Jingumae, Shibuya-ku from November 9th. It started.
At the preview held on November 8, the day before the opening, Kusanagi also appeared and gave a speech. Regarding the circumstances behind the exhibition, he said, “About a year ago, Goro (Inagaki) and Shingo (Katori) asked me to show them their denim, and at first I thought they were bragging about their hobbies. As I was showing a lot of them, I thought, “This is great!” and that’s when I decided I wanted to hold a denim exhibition.”
Kusanagi’s love for denim is widely known, and he says, “In the 1990s, there was a huge vintage boom all over the world.It’s even more popular than it was then, and the vintage items I own are world-class masterpieces.” I think it’s going to be a big event with all the amazing vintage denim that’s the first of its kind in the world, but I also think there’s a lot to convey to people who don’t know anything about vintage or denim. Denim really teaches us things that are important in life.For me, I think there are many hidden things that can help you in life.” He talked about his thoughts on this exhibition.
The exhibition “STAY BRAVE” will be held at the same location until November 17th.
