■”It’s been five years since I’ve been working with Tsurube-san. It feels so fast.” (Taisuke Fujigaya)
“A-Studio+” is a premium talk show that is broadcast every Friday on TBS and is MCed by Tsurube Shofukutei and Taisuke Fujigaya (Kis-My-Ft2).
This program celebrated its 15th anniversary in April, and will celebrate its 800th broadcast in December. This is the fifth year since the Tsurube x Fujigaya duo has teamed up. Tsurube said, “It’s really a blessing,” and Fujigaya said, “It’s been five years since we’ve been working together, Tsurube-san. It feels like time has passed.”
■Who is the guest that inspired Tsurube?
When I asked the two of them about the most impressive guest on the show so far, Fujigaya answered, “It’s Sayuri Yoshinaga.Before the recording, I was doing a corner where I was the only one to come and greet her in the dressing room, but I never thought I’d get to meet her.” I thought it was a prank because I didn’t see it (lol).While I said, “Thank you for your help,” I thought to myself, “Wow! It’s real! “I was nervous,” he says.Then, when I heard that Mr. Yoshinaga had decided to perform because Tsurube was the MC, I thought that Tsurube was truly amazing.”
To Fujigaya, Tsurube said, “That’s what happens when you meet Yoshinaga-san. We’ve co-starred in a movie and have been friends since then, but I still can’t get used to it (lol). I’m really grateful to hear that you’ve chosen me. That’s why I’m deeply grateful to all the guests who have appeared so far.”
Fujigaya also observed the relationship with Tsurube when comedians came as guests, saying, “The younger generation of comedians would poke fun at and tease Tsurube, who is a great veteran and mentor. There are very few relationships that allow you to do that. There aren’t any around me.When I’m in my 70s and have to invite my juniors, I don’t know if I’ll be able to give them the opportunity to poke fun at them like Mr. Tsurube.” It is said that you can experience the greatness of Tsurubota.
Tsurube said, “Yukiko Nonomura once told me that I have the power to be admired,” and I think that’s to the point.I don’t mean to give off that kind of vibe though (lol). Children coming out of Osaka I’m sure people would be really nervous if they were to appear in “A-Studio+” in a place like Tokyo, so I hope they’ll use me as their backup,” Fujigaya said, showing his deep compassion. I heard a voice.
Furthermore, when asked about the words from guests who have influenced him, Tsurube said, “The words I heard from speed skater Nao Kodaira were very impressive.’What you are given is finite, what you seek is infinite.’ It taught me a new sense of value, and it has stayed with me deeply.”
Fujigaya also said, “For the movie “Pride and Goodness,” which was released this year, I read the original work and had a strong desire to play the main character, and in the past guests have talked about their experiences of taking that approach themselves. So, I remembered that and decided to try my best as well. Over the past five years, I have felt that the era of “waiting” is over, and that has brought me closer to realizing my dream. I thought so,” he said resolutely.

Finally, when asked who they would like to interview if they were to interview each other, Tsurube replied, “I would like to talk to my father. (When Fujigaya appeared as a guest in 2019) I would like to talk to my mother.” So now it’s time for Dad. I went to Hawaii with my wife and the third son of the Fujigaya family a while ago, and he was amazing too. It was interesting. So I think if you get to know the parents who raised these brothers, you’ll be able to understand everything about Fujigaya.” He seems to be very interested in the Fujigaya family.
Fujigaya said, “Golfing in Hawaii was fun. Mr. Tsurube’s wife and my younger brother are good at golf, and Mr. Tsurube and I play mostly bunkers (lol). It’s been 6 years since I started working with Mr. (Masahiro) Nakai. I went there for the first time in about a year, and it was a lot of fun,” he said, adding, “I listened carefully to (Suruga) Taro-chan’s story. I’ve worked with Taro in a play, and he seems to be a good match for both intense and gentle roles.That’s why I asked Taro-chan to play the role of a father. “I’d like to hear about it. It might be embarrassing, but (lol). I’m very interested,” he said.
“A-Studio+” is broadcast on TBS every Friday from 11:00 p.m. The guests will be Tao Tsuchiya on November 15th, Takayuki Yamada on the 22nd of the following week, and Machiko Ono on the 29th of the week after next.
