It has been announced that STARKIDS will release their new album “G-SPOT” on Friday, November 22nd.
This work is the first album in about 3 years. The “G” in the title not only comes from the STARKIDS collective/label guntai9, but also has multiple meanings for each member, including “Good,” “Genius,” and “Gaki.” The title was chosen with the aim of allowing for a wide range of interpretation, so that not only STARKIDS but also everyone who listened to the song could find their own meaning.
The interpretation of “G” for each member is as follows.
levi – “Genkin spot (cash spot)”
ROAR – “Gold spot”
TAHITI – “Gōryū Spot (meeting spot, place where friends gather)”
espeon – “God Spot”
BENXNI – “Genki spot”
Space Boy – “Gaijin spot”
Additionally, on November 8th (Friday), a meaningful post was posted on STARKIDS’ social media along with a mysterious message saying, “Thank you everyone for the past four years.” X became a trending topic and became a hot topic, and various rumors were flying around among fans, such as the group’s disbandment and live promotions, but these rumors are said to be just nonsense. The person in charge was also worried about his childish behavior.
In addition to STARKIDS member BENXNI, artists such as lileffort, tonser, sg Lily, maple, and goonyears participated in the production of the album “G-SPOT”. Also included are “World is Ours,” which samples supercell’s representative song “World is Mine,” and features vocaloid Hatsune Miku, and “STAY BACK,” which features American rapper/artist Deko.
The album will be distributed from November 22nd (Friday), and the first physical version will be released on November 25th (Monday). The physical version includes a total of 10 songs, including an unreleased bonus track, and will be released in advance at Shibuya Tower Records. In addition, a release commemorative live event will be held that only CD purchasers can attend, and it will be a special event to express gratitude to the fans.
