Kazuo Funaki (79) made a spectacular debut on June 5, 1963 with the single “High School Third Year” and took the world by storm.

This year, 2024, marks the 62nd anniversary of his debut, and on December 12th he will finally reach his 80th birthday. The tour started with the Omiya Sonic City performance on February 2nd (Friday) and concluded on November 6th (Wednesday) at LINE CUBE Shibuya. Finally, on December 12th (Thursday), Kazuo Funaki will be heading towards his 80th birthday, and a concert titled “2024 Kazuo Funaki Concert Countdown 80”’ will be held at the Shin-Kabukiza Theater in Osaka.

In conjunction with the performance, it has been decided that the special exhibition “Kazuo Funaki Exhibition 2024 79-80”, which followed Kazuo Funaki’s entertainment life and was held in Nagoya in September and Tokyo in November, will also be held in Osaka. .
This is a remake and reorganization of the “Kazuo Funaki Special Exhibition” held in 2021 at the “Toru Funamura Memorial Museum” (Nikko City, Tochigi Prefecture), which introduces the life and works of composer Toru Funamura. Exhibition. Ahead of his 80th birthday on December 12th (Thursday), we will introduce the discography of Funaki’s works released since his debut, and share the charm of Kazuo Funaki, who continues to sing powerfully even today. This is a content that fans who have followed along the way can enjoy once again as an exhibition.

Both Nagoya and Tokyo ended with great success, but at the Osaka venue it has been decided that the first issue of Kazuo Funaki’s sponsored magazine “Ukifune”, which was launched on August 15, 1964, will be exhibited!!! This first issue, which can be said to be the beginning of Kazuo Funaki’s supporters’ association that has continued for more than 60 years, is one of the few valuable materials. This time, we will enlarge it and display it so that everyone can see it, including its contents.
