Sendai rapper Plain Jay releases new mixtape “Only One Jay”

Sendai-based rapper Plain Jay released his new mixtape “Only One Jay” on Friday, November 29th.

Forming the collective S4L with Fukushima producer Kaworu MF and his younger brother, rapper Huncho Fox, Plain Jay is active with a musical style that feels contemporaneous with current American trap music. This work is said to be a work that expresses the determination to “remain strong in yourself and continue to be unique without worrying about trends or the opinions of those around you.” During the production period, there were periods of intense emotional ups and downs, and times when production was difficult, but this work was completed with a strong desire to “break out of the sadness and pain that I had been through.”

Contains a total of 15 songs, including the preceding singles “Only One Jay”, “Change”, and “Corvette”, whose music video was released. In addition to KaworuMF, WooRock, Kiko, and Nova also participated in the production. The trap beat is in the same direction as street rap from places like Florida and Atlanta, and it brings out the charm of Plain Jay’s diverse rap style, which incorporates powerful vocalizations and off-beat flows.

During the production period, there were times when I had a lot of ups and downs, and there were times when I couldn’t produce as much as I wanted. However, by continuing to face myself, I realized what success and happiness I had been looking for all this time. The answer was within me.
I found within myself what I needed to do, and I have been pushing towards that dream. This was truly a blessing, and when I realized it, my heart overflowed with gratitude. When I started rapping, I must have been completely focused on my own dreams and success, but before I knew it, I was able to say with all my heart that I wanted to help others.
I may not be able to provide any direct support as I have not achieved success yet, but I would like to help people who want to move forward, such as those who challenge their dreams and goals, and those who do not have the courage to do what they want to do. I would be happy if I could become an artist who supports others.
