iri’s latest song “Faster than me” has been chosen as the theme song for ABEMA’s original drama series “Wakakette mo the shapes of love” starring Ryusei Yokohama, which will be broadcast from 9pm on December 9th.
“Faster than me” is the latest song by singer-songwriter iri. The lyrics and music were written and composed by music producer Nariaki Obukuro, and the songs are “Memories that have been rewritten by the passing days/All I can think of is your back” and “Every day I thought you were there/So don’t turn around and stand in front of me.” ”, the delicate feelings of love are expressed in a mellow melody, reminiscent of the relationship between the “Numao” Ren, played by Yokohama Ryusei, who stars in this work, and Miu, played by Minami Sara, who is attracted to his charm. I am doing it.
When choosing the theme song, iri commented, “I sang it while imagining the story of Ren and Miu,” and “I would be happy if I could relate to the feelings of everyone watching the drama.”
This song will be released on December 11th.
The music production for this work is handled by TOKA, a music creative company centered around Yaffle and Nariaki Obukuro. Yaffle, knoak, Rikimaru Sakuragi, and FOUX are participating, and they are working on the theatrical version with up-and-coming producers active in various genres, including uin and Reo Anzai.
Insert songs include Mamiko Suzuki from chelmico, Masaya Mifune from AAAMYYY and ROTH BART BARON, and the opening song features popular artists such as Friday Night Plans. It adds flair to the worldview of.
In addition, along with the theme song being decided, a preview video for this work has also been released. The encounter between Ren (Yokohama Ryusei), who was appointed as a special lecturer at an art university, and Miu (Minami Sara), who is an assistant at the same art university, their fateful reunion at a bar, and the day they spent the night together for the first time… their relationship. The theme song “Faster than me” depicts the two gradually changing.
“Even though I know I shouldn’t wish for it…” Miu finds herself helplessly drawn to Ren’s glamorous charm. Their relationship, which seemed to continue without any promise, gradually changes…? And why did Ren, who doesn’t often express his emotions clearly to those around him, shed tears?
“Even if I understand the shapes of love” is a Korean drama Netflix series “Even if I understand” is based on the webtoon of the same name, brought together by a talented creative team active in Japan and abroad, led by director Ryutaro Nakagawa. (currently distributed exclusively on Netflix) is a reconstructed work set in Kamakura, Japan. This is a love story for adults that delicately depicts the human urge to reach out for love even when you know it will hurt you, and that anyone who has ever been in love can relate to, with a beautiful worldview.
Ryusei Yokohama will play the lead role, and Sara Minami will play the opposite role. Yokohama Ryusei is Kosaka Ren, a young genius artist who has both an attractive power that makes everyone want to get close to him, and a mysterious charm that doesn’t let anyone get too deep into him, even though he knows it will hurt if he falls in love with him. He plays a “swamp man” who is attracted to him.
Minami Sara is Miu Hamasaki, an assistant in the sculpture department at an art university who is traumatized by a past love affair. She plays the role of a woman who falls in love.

■Yaffle comments
I tried to make the music match the delicate world created by Director Nakagawa. I am proud to have been able to create this work together with the producers, artists, and staff who are fighting at the forefront of the scene.■iri comment
This time, Obukuro-kun sang “Faster than me,” which was created in line with the worldview of the drama, while imagining the story of Ren and Miu.
I would be happy if this song could touch the feelings of everyone who will be watching the drama from now on.■Director Ryutaro Nakagawa’s comment
I was very excited when it was decided that I would be able to work with Nariaki Obukuro, whom I had met during my student days and whose activities I had been following ever since. It is a memory I will never forget that he dedicated his singing voice to my starting point, “Run, fast enough that despair can’t overtake me.”
I have always felt close to Yaffle as we have many mutual friends. The Japanese version of “Even if I Know” is structured so that each episode focuses on one person. Just as each person is the main character in their own life, we ask each person to create a melody that serves as the theme. Mr. Yaffle, who orchestrated the music that represents their hearts, is another main character in this story.
When I imagined the inner voice of Miu, played by Sara Minami, I felt that iri’s singing voice would fit perfectly. Miu appears to be delicate and quiet, but there is a fierceness in her heart. I believe that iri’s earnest and powerful singing voice expressed Miu’s heart.
When the hidden emotions of Ren, played by Ryusei, are revealed, the magic of “Faster than me”, which has vividly colored the story, is applied, and Ren’s story, and the story of both of them, comes to fruition through music. Until that moment, please keep your eyes peeled and watch this love story!
