The Snoopy Orchestra Concert, the fifth year of the series, opened on December 8th at the Hyogo Arts Center KOBELCO Large Hall. This performance started in 2020 to celebrate PEANUTS’s 70th anniversary, and Yu Shirota, who has performed since the first year, has been directing since last year, and the title has been changed to[Magical Christmas Night]and has been greatly renewed. Yu Shirota has been confirmed to appear in the Nippon Television drama “Ikinari Kon” (Tuesday Platinum Night slot aired in January), which was announced today, and his wide-ranging activities as an artist and actor that transcend genres are attracting increasing attention. are.

When you enter the concert venue, you will see a large Christmas tree decorated with brightly colored ornaments and presents, art sets such as a snowman and a bright red dog house, giving you a sense of the world of PEANUTS. This design was created by Rumi Matsui, who is in charge of stage design and has won numerous awards. At the venue, natural sounds such as the voices of insects and chirping birds were played, serving as an introduction to the forest concert that was about to begin.

The stage opened with an overture performed by a full orchestra and jazz piano trio, and the audience gasped. When Shirota, who serves as the main vocalist, appeared on stage, he sang everything from standard numbers to J-Pop hit songs.

At this Hyogo performance, Win Morisaki, who has been in contact with Shirota in both his professional and private life, appeared as a guest. A cover of Keisuke Kuwata’s “Shiroi Koibitotachi” with an orchestral arrangement. In addition, the Western music Christmas medley captivated the audience with the harmonies of Shirota and Morisaki, the chorus of the unique six-member vocal group FYURA, and a relaxed session that brought out each character’s character. Images of the PEANUTS gang and others were projected from the LED panels set up on the large Christmas tree, and combined with the gorgeous lighting, the audience was excited from beginning to end.

At the end of the main story, Shirota and music director/piano Takana Miyamoto co-wrote “Yume no Tane ~ I’ll be by your side”, which was co-written last year as the image song for this concert and released digitally in October of this year. The song was sung with a magnificent full orchestra and jazz trio arrangement along with YURA’s gorgeous chorus. The euphoria in the venue reached its peak, and the event ended in joy with two Christmas songs performed as an encore.

Subsequently, on December 12th, a performance in Hokkaido was held at Sapporo Cultural Arts Theater hitaru, where the guest was the promising singer KIMIKA, whose singing voice was recognized by Lady Gaga. The final performance in Tokyo, which will be held on December 23rd at the Tokyo Bunka Kaikan Main Hall, will feature Thelma Aoyama, who is active not only in music but also in fashion and variety shows. For both performances, original goods that were very popular at the Hyogo performance will also be on sale.
