SE SO NEON, Cornelius, Dos Monos and others announced in the first round of Ryuichi Sakamoto tribute festival

A one-night-only tribute that inherits, evolves, and expands the “will” of Ryuichi Sakamoto’s (1952-2023) regular program “RADIO SAKAMOTO,” which has been broadcast on radio station J-WAVE (81.3FM) for 20 years. The festival “RADIO SAKAMOTO Uday -NEW CONTEXT FES × DIG SHIBUYA-” will be held on February 10th (Monday) at Shibuya Spotify, Tokyo. It will be held at O-EAST / Higashimaya / duo MUSIC EXCHANGE.

This event brings together artists who have collaborated with and created works with Ryuichi Sakamoto and YMO. Featuring U-zhaan x Tamaki ROY x Chinza DOPENESS, a three-person unit known for their song “Energy Bath” which is a new interpretation of Ryuichi Sakamoto’s “energy flow”, as well as Cornelius, Yoshinori Sunahara, Daito Manabe, Dongurizu and MONDO GROSSO. The units DONGROSSO and TOWA TEI, as well as the Korean band SE SO NEON, who were close friends with Ryuichi Sakamoto, will also come to Japan and perform.

Also participating will be Dos Monos, an up-and-coming rap trio to which TaiTan, who appeared in the special edition of “RADIO SAKAMOTO”, belongs, as well as Sasuke Haraguchi, a new generation music producer who admires Ryuichi Sakamoto. A variety of artists from across countries and generations will pay homage to the music that Ryuichi Sakamoto has created in Shibuya.

At the same time, the fastest advance reservation for tickets has started exclusively for members of J-WAVE’s listener’s community “J-me.” Additional performers, stage allocation and timetable will be announced at a later date. Let’s look forward to the next report.
