Ichika Nito releases EP “Metaphor” and releases music video, heralding a new beginning

Guitarist Ichika Nito will release his new EP “Metaphor” today, December 10th (Tuesday). At the same time, the music video for the title track “Metaphor” was released.

In addition to attracting attention from all over the world as a solo guitarist, Ichika Nito is also active in the band Dios, which he formed with Tanaka and Sasano Mari, and the instrumental band ichikoro, which includes Eon Kawatani and others. This work is his first EP under his own name in about 2 years and 2 months since “Window” (2022). He presents a figure that breaks away from the conventional image of a guitarist, packed with the essence of his roots in gaming and anime culture. This work foretells a new beginning.

“Metaphor” is a fast-paced track that is a remix of trendy hyper pop and art core with a bit of nostalgia born from Japanese music game culture, and Ichika’s guitar runs through it. In addition, an artist featuring Feryquitous, who sings the hook.
The track was also co-written. “VOID” is a song in which a unique scaled riff played by an electric nylon guitar flows over a crunching reggaeton beat. Although it has elements of reggaeton, Ichika’s sense of melody makes it completely original.
. “Silver Water” features Novelists’ Pierre Danel as a guest guitarist. His guitar playing, which alternates with Ichika’s, is as if he were floating underwater. The last song, “Freak,” is based on a popular guitar phrase that was released on Ichika’s YouTube channel three years ago and has been viewed over 10 million times. This phrase is loved by fans and has spawned many covers. Add a powerful guitar sound and energetic beat to it to make it even more dynamic.

The music video for “Metaphor” was directed by Ryosho Ose, a well-known video director.

Ever since I first posted “forn” on the Internet, I have continued to pursue my vision of the ideal guitarist without being bound by conventional wisdom. Although I don’t show it publicly, I am who I am today through countless challenges, failures, and repeated trial and error.
