■”I’ve never talked to Miyakaka properly, so I’m really happy to be able to work with him!” (Ken Kojima, Ae! group)
It has been announced that Junki Totsuka, Ken Kojima (Ae! group), and Maho Nonami will appear in the drama “Honno Switch” (TV Asahi / Starts January 11, 2025) starring Kaito Miyachika and Wakana Aoi. It was done.
This work is about childhood friends who have been together since before they can remember, and now, as adults, they face their long-sealed feelings and begin their long-delayed first love…this winter’s most heart-warming pure love story.
As expectations rise for the first broadcast of this work, which has finally begun in earnest, the main cast surrounding Sei Akiyama, played by Miyachika, and Kowa Hoshi, played by Aoi, have been announced.
Junki Totsuka plays Sosuke Yoshida, Kowa’s colleague and ex-boyfriend. He played the hot and innocent Todoroki in the TV drama series “Tiger ni Tsubasa” (2024), and became so popular that the hashtag “#Our Todoroki” was created, and he also appeared in “Aoshima-kun wa Ijiwaru” (2024). However, Totsuka was loved by viewers for his lovable goofball character, but in this work he completely changes his previous image. He plays the role of a “cheating man” who unilaterally breaks up with Kowa, who he has been dating for two and a half years, because “the person he was dating got pregnant.”
Totsuka, who called Yoshida “somewhat annoying, and a bad guy for the two main characters (lol),” flatly states that he has “nothing in common with him.” However, the people around her say, “I think we’re similar in that I think only I’m cool.” She denies this, saying, “Of course I’m not convinced (laughs)!” but adds, “But that part of me is similar.” It’s new to me, and I want to enjoy acting,” he said with enthusiasm.
In addition, Ken Kojima, who is currently active as the leader of the popular idol group Ae! group, has been chosen to play Kowa’s junior, Hide Enomoto. Currently, he is currently appearing on the variety show “What’s wrong with azatoku?” In the “Azato serial drama” in “Azato Serial Drama”, he is playing the role of a yin-kyo table tennis club boy. He has received a lot of attention for his strong acting style, but in this work he plays the exact opposite, a bright and cheerful boy with a loud voice.
Kojima himself was very excited about appearing in this work, saying, “This is my first time playing a bright role, and I thought it would be fun to play extremely different roles at the same time.” She also said, “I’ve never really talked to Miyakaka-san before, so I’m really happy to be able to work with her!” and said with a grin, “I talked to her a little while ago, and she was really nice and happy.” This is Kojima’s first collaboration with Miyachika, and expectations are high for Kojima’s performance as he takes on the role for the first time.
Maho Nonami will play Yoko Kihara, Owa’s colleague and good confidant. Nonami, who is fresh in our memory for the unique characters he showed in dramas such as “Oi Handsome!!” series (2022, 2024) and “Until I Destroy My Husband’s Family” (2024), plays a cool yet warm and small character in this work. She is like an older sister who watches over peace.
Nonami said with a grin, “The original work was really interesting and it was such a wonderful work that I read it all at once, so I’m really happy to be able to appear in it.” Also, “(In the ramen shop scene) there was a line that I couldn’t say properly, so I made Junki Totsuka eat a mess of ramen. If Junki-kun was upset, it was my fault. I’m sorry (lol) )” He also told us the inside story. It is also interesting to note Nonami’s sisterly attitude, saying, “I feel like it’s going to be a good work and I’m excited.”
■On December 21st, the latest video featuring 5 cast members including Miyachika and Aoi will be released for the first time.
In the final episode of “The Reason We Fall in Love” to be broadcast on December 21st, a new video featuring Miyachika, Aoi, Totsuka, Kojima, and Nonami will be released for the first time using the main story of the drama.
Also, TVer is currently showing an interview video with Miyachika and Aoi. This interview is a must-see as you can get a glimpse of their true faces.
■ Junki Totsuka comment
I think many of the Osidora Saturday dramas are niche works that depict aspects that aren’t often covered in other time slots, so I enjoy doing them as well. I am very honored to be able to participate this time.
I think Yoshida, the character I play, is a person who has his own preferences. He has an ideal of what he thinks is cool, and he spares no effort to become that person…I get the impression that he is a person who is good at living a fulfilling life. Personally, I don’t think we have anything in common, but the people around me say that we are similar in that we only think that we are cool. Of course I’m not convinced (lol)! Also, Yoshida can be a bit harsh, and he’s really unpleasant for the two main characters (lol), but those aspects are new to me, and I want to enjoy playing him.
This drama is a work that properly depicts human aspects such as cuteness and ugliness, so I think both fans of the original work and those who have never read the original work will enjoy it. Please look forward to the broadcast.■Ken Kojima comment
I’m now thinking, “What’s wrong with being stupid? In the “Azato Serial Drama”, I played a role that is said to be a “dark” character, which is the complete opposite of the cheerful Enomoto I play this time, so I thought it would be fun to play extremely different roles at the same time. It’s my first time playing a bright role, and it’s my first time working with Miyakaka, so I was simply happy.
Enomoto is a cheerful mood maker, and I thought he was a character who would add an accent to someone you’d want to have around you. Personally, I’m not that bright, so lately I’ve started to be more conscious of “brightness” even in my private life. Rather than suddenly doing it in front of the camera, I decided to speak louder than usual (lol). Also, Enomoto is a KY character in the best sense of the word. On the other hand, I’m the type of person who reads the atmosphere, so I think I need to study that.
I had never had the chance to talk to Mr. Miyakako properly, so I was really looking forward to working with him this time. I just talked to you for just a moment! He was very kind and made me happy.
I hope all the viewers enjoy the story. Of course, the whole thing makes you excited, but it also makes you feel a little sad…I’d be happy if it moved the emotions of the viewers.■Maho Nonami comment
When I was approached, I wondered if it would be okay for me to do it. However, the original story was really interesting, and it was such a wonderful work that I read it all at once, so I was really happy and looking forward to it.
The character I play, Kihara, is a very decent, smart, serious, and cool person, but she also has some off-putting and girly parts. I’m not that smart or proper, but the parts I’m missing are exactly the same (lol). Right now, in order to not disappoint everyone’s expectations, I’m currently in the process of creating the character while consulting with the director about what kind of person Kihara is, so I hope things will become clear little by little.
The actors and staff were very calm on set, and filming was a lot of fun. By the way, the other day, I had a line that I couldn’t get right, and I ended up making Junki Totsuka eat a lot of ramen. If Junki-kun is upset, it’s my fault, I’m sorry (lol).
It’s a bit of pressure to make a drama based on a popular original work, but I’m excited because I have a feeling it’s going to be a good work. I hope I can convey that atmosphere to everyone, so please look forward to it!
