The live series entitled “EXPLODE” started with the Toyosu PIT performance held in January 2023, and at “EXPLODE -02-” held in January 2024, all four performances will be performed live with different concepts. held. I have vivid memories of Petit Brabancon being on the verge of exploding, expanding their possibilities as a band and rushing to the next stage, such as the band’s first performance in a large hall and the band’s first two-man live. Continuing from the previous live video work, KOH YAMADA, who has worked with many metal/loud rock artists such as coldrain, SiM, and Crystal Lake, was appointed as the director. Based on the fact that the live performances themselves were held with different concepts, the videos of the two days were also recorded and edited with different concepts.
The visual world of Petit Brabancon’s majesty, danger, and violence transports the viewer to a crazy world, and the scent sticks in their nostrils like a trauma, as they perform live in a large hall. The video directly sublimates the atmosphere of the band, allowing us to once again witness the thrilling moment when the personalities of the five members intersect and one large swell attacks the entire venue with its sharp fangs bared. Presenting contrasting live footage from two days in one set gives a sense of the wide expressive range of the band Petit Brabancon, and draws you into the core of the band’s simmering energy.
Petit Brabancon also fully expresses the band’s extreme worldview outside of the disc. Currently, for Blu-ray works, Zekuu has produced special VHS-style packages for the previous video work series, and has also released films such as the “Puppet Master” series and “ZOMBIO” following the previous work. is in charge of direction and Ryohei Miyaji is in charge of design.
The VHS-themed package embodies the retro worldview of a 70’s circus-themed horror movie, which was the theme of the live performance. The Blu-ray will be released in two forms: a limited edition and a general distribution edition. The limited edition will have a special package that three-dimensionally reproduces the shape of a VHS tape, and is part of the “EXPLODE-02-” series. Included in the package is the bootleg video of “Petit Brabancon EXPLODE -02- Byouju” held at Namba Hatch in Osaka on January 8th.
The live show, which collided with ROTTENGRAFFTY as their first pairing, was a ferocious affair between the passionate audience and the band, who had turned into a rampaging beast, with moshing, crowd surfing, and even a wall of death occurring everywhere. This performance was a historical turning point, and the members say that it had a great influence on their later 2nd EP, “Seven Garbage Born of Hatred.” This video, shot from the center of the floor at the moment when the attack turned aggressive, is a video of people colliding with each other, overrun by passion and spirit that makes the blood boil, the flesh swell, and the bones creak.
