The main visual for the 44th Osaka International Women’s Marathon designed by Shingo Katori has been released! The motif is the flower of Osaka Prefecture.

Shingo Katori has created the main visual for the 44th Osaka International Women’s Marathon, which will be held on January 26, 2025, for the first time.

This work, titled “Isshinfu RUN,” is based on a primrose motif. The primrose, which has been certified as the “Flower of Osaka Prefecture,” is also known for its resistance to cold. This visual will brighten up the Osaka International Women’s Marathon, which takes place in the middle of winter in Osaka.

This tournament is a selection competition for Japan’s representative athletes for the World Athletics Championships, which will be held in Tokyo in September 2025. It will also be the first step toward the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. At the previous tournament, Honan Maeda (Tenmaya) marked “2 hours 18 minutes 59 seconds”, breaking the Japanese record for the first time in 19 years. Japan’s top athletes are scheduled to participate in this tournament as well. The tournament will be broadcast live on Kantele and Fuji TV’s nationwide network from noon on January 26th.
